da skers
The reason they have an "temp" coach for the season is that they put out calls around a month ago to gage interest. There wasn't a lot there from coaches with top BCS programs because of the unknown NCAA. I understand there will be some additional information coming out in the next few days relating the timing of this announcement. I still find it odd that Tressel is being mentioned as this great coach with an outstanding record who ran a good program. The douche bag was closer to 200 violations with his team than he was to 100. That averages out to 18-20 per year. He damn near killed younstown state. His aftermath was riddled with NCAA sanctions that he committed but weren't discovered when he was there. Quote Link to comment
Eric the Red
Jim Tressel tenders resignation Embattled coach Jim Tressel, two months after publicly apologizing for fallout that resulted in suspensions for him and several of his players, has resigned from Ohio State. "After meeting with university officials, we agreed that it is in the best interest of Ohio State that I resign as head football coach," Tressel said in a statement Monday morning. "The appreciation that Ellen and I have for the Buckeye Nation is immeasurable." Quote Link to comment
husker B-rent
Bo wont even be offered unless everything else falls through, he hasnt even won a conference title yet and it is an unwritten rule in the BIG that coaches dont go to another conference school. they want someone that is established and bo just isnt established enough yet. Bobby Stoops will be target numero uno as he has won multiple titles and won or appeared in multiple national title games. as well as being from ohio! its a no brainer really. P.S. ohio state received a copy of the article from SI that supposedly has very incriminating things in it on friday of last week, tressel resigned the next business day, and that article will be published online tomorrow at noon. should be interesting. Stumpy1
How do you think Pryor and company feel? Tressel weaseled them into coming back this year and then hits the door himself. Quote Link to comment
BIG ERN
Feldman already has Bo Pelini as the #2 prospect. No way Bo leaves though IMO. He has Urban Meyer at 1, Gary Patterson at 3, Jon Gruden 4, Mark Dantonio 5, Mark Stoops 6, Gary Pinkel 7. Quote Link to comment

Vizsla1
Bo ain't going and Stoops will have a preseason #1 team at OU. I wouldn't want to be at OSU until the first couple of years after all this NCAA stuff shakes out. Quote Link to comment

Scratchtown
I don't think Bo leaves because they don't end up offering. While at Nebraska Bo has been good for 4 losses a season no conference titles no BCS bowls 2-1 in bowl games and he has an national perception of anger management issues. Quote Link to comment

I wonder if anyone else finds it odd that Urban has to be retired for a year before he can coach again and OSU is waiting until December to start the search...you know...a year after Urban will have been out of coaching. tschu
It is probably ten times more likely that Urban Meyer gets the OSU job than Bo Pelini getting it Quote Link to comment

TMagic
I thought there was a rule against inner-Conference coaching changes? Did I get bad information? Quote Link to comment
