Friday at Fan Day

Recommended Posts

Fan from afare....hurry up and post pics guys.

I took about 100 pictures. I'll post the better ones in a while.

@Axl - you can't try and get autographs. It's a complete waste of time. You'll get through two lines if you're lucky. It's fun to just get in the stadium and soak up the atmosphere. Even if it is so thick you can cut it.

Notable events at Fan Day - Got pictures of pretty much everyone I wanted to get pics of. Sweated so badly in the humidity that I am RANK. After walking around the stadium and running up the steps and working up a really nice stink, I met Bubba's sisters, Jaime and Jill, and they insisted I take a picture with them. Since Jill is 15 years old and I don't have permission from her parents, I won't be posting that pic, so don't ask.

I also met Sam McKewon, shook his hand and told him I'm a big fan. Swell guy. That was a treat.

Sooo.... you did ask his sisters what we needed to do to make him stay at Nebraska, right?

I took my three year old son for his first trip to Memorial Stadium yesterday. I didn't get out of work until about a quarter til 3, so by the time I got him from daycare and got to the stadium, there were only about ten minutes left. We came in gate 3, so we just hopped in the OL line and got about 10 or so autographs from there. He loved being able to see the inside and how big it was. We walked across the field, saw several players, and had all kinds of fun. :D Several of the offensive linemen gave him high fives, which he absolutely loved. Really fun time! Have to remember how it's organized for the next time we go. Would have liked to have gone through the quarterback line, but this was the first time I'd gone, so had no clue what to expect. Still a very fun way to spend a bit of the afternoon!

Sorry for the holdup on pics. About two seconds after my last post in this thread I was called to the emergency room when my wife developed complications from a relatively simple surgical procedure she'd had last week. Just got back from the hospital, she's fine, and everything should be OK. Not sure when I'll get pics up - I have a lot of nursing to do around here.

Met Brooke Delano at Walgreen's while picking up prescriptions. Chatted with her for about two minutes. I see Huskers everywhere these days.
