deedsker
Nah, I just went with what I thought. No way is Michigan better than Wisconsin. Had to take a poke at you. Michigan has Toussaint in their future and I kind of saw the Wisconsin drop off coming after Wilson leaving. He meant a lot to that team and it is showing. Quote Link to comment
sd'sker
I'm very skeptical of this Boise State team. This isn't Alabama we're talking about, you just don't replace virtually your entire team and see no drop off. Michigan State could have easily lost that game too. Its Nick Saban we are talking about. He is the best recruiter and the best coach by far. I watched that game and Bama has two amazing running backs that will be just as good as Trent Richardson and they are a freshman and a sophomore I think. Alabama will still be pretty dominant but will have a little drop off from last year's team, it wont be much of one though. The Dude was saying that Boise State is no Alabama. With all the players that Boise lost after last season, they can't just reload and be just as good, like Alabama can. For that reason, Michigan State's win is even less impressive than it was to begin with (if you can even consider that an impressive win). true, but bsu was one of the more respectable wins for the B1G teams. that counts for something in the power rankings. I wouldn't read too much into Wisky's sluggish performance against Northern Iowa. UW is kinda known for their underwhelming starts to the season. O'Brien had a pretty good game and all they will really need is a game manager at QB to be effective. Michigan was terribly overrated coming into the season. I think most people knew that. They were lucky last year in the sense that they had a very favorable conference schedule and didn't suffer any injuries of note. This year their schedule is tougher and the injuries are already mounting. They just lost their best DB for the year and their starting LT is out for a few games. UW is a lot more well-rounded than them. It's too bad they don't play each other. Quote Link to comment
B.B. Hemingway
t-1. Nebraska t-1. Ohio St. 3. Michigan St. 4. Michigan t- 5. Purdue t- 5. Wisconsin 7. Northwestern 8. Illinois 9. Iowa 10. Minnesota 11. Penn. St. 12. Indiana I feel that Purdue is really going to challenge Wisconsin for the right to go to the B1G Championship. They are a solid team, and Wisky looked (just one game though) vulnerable against UNI. That will be a fun race to watch this year, in my opinion. The Legends division is going to be interesting, and a lot of it depends on how Michigan responds to the ass-kickin' they took in Dallas. If they crumble then they will be out of the race early. I will be watching Michigan very closely next week against Air Force (maybe ?). If Michigan St. QB situation doesn't improve I think we will see a repeat of last year in Lincoln when Nebraska and Mich State square off in East Lansing. Nebraska, as we all know, eats pocket passers alive in recent years. It should be a very competitive season in the B1G, and just the thought of it makes me happy we joined the conference. GBR!!!! Penn. St. 12. Indiana I can't drop Michigan too far, as I think we would have been in the same position they were against an Alabama team that seems to be in late season form. Ohio State seems to be the most put together team so far this year. I think Nebraska has the most room to move up and Michigan State has the most room to drop. Overall I am going to guess Purdue gets the nod for the Leaders (Weird to say), and I'm not confident enough to make a guess for the Legends. My guess is it's between Michigan and Nebraska. HeyBurke
Why does everyone have Michigan State ranked so high? I don't get it. They have no offense outside of Leveon Bell. None. Yeah, the defense is impressive, but it's not good enough to rank them as high as people are. Quote Link to comment

Having said that, I have them 3rd right now. Quote Link to comment

No it's not. maybe he was referring to another post. msu is getting a lot of love, but i am not impressed. you really can not judge mich. right now. they are not elite or top 10, but they might be able to beat nu and even msu. i think nu can beat msu, not mich. and i think msu can be mich. it will be an interesting season. hopefully NU does better than expected and beats 3 of 4 with msu, mich., osu, and wiscy. add no let downs and that is a heckuva season. I think everyone knows MSU is not going to do that well passing the ball this year because of the hefty inexperience at wide receiver and quarterback. Outside of the passing game, their biggest challenge is going to be finding a way to work other backs into the equation. If Bell continues to get anywhere near the amount of touches he got last week, he's going to make it seven to nine games and then be finished. Quote Link to comment

Penn. St. 12. Indiana I don't drop Michigan at all with their performance against Bama. To me ... it just shows everyone how weak the B1G is. Overall, if you look at how the B1G performed in it's first week it was rather weak, that is, looking at the scores and who they played. I have Mich and OSU just inside the Top 20 and the Huskers around 25 ... no one else gets any love. Quote Link to comment
