MichiganDad3
I just read a story about Taylor's little brother and it states he runs a 40 in the 4.3s. It also says he wants to play defense in college and that he could play DE if he gained some weight. I am sure he would lose some speed if he became big enough to play DE, but It sure would be fun watching a DE in the 4.5 range. Who was the fastest DE NU ever had? Does anyone know NUs chances of landing Drake Martinez? Quote Link to comment
HuskerMack
He is 210 pounds they said he could play Linebacker not DE. He would have to put on 50 pounds to play DE where for a linebacker 20 pounds shouldnt be to much. Quote Link to comment
Lyons in the Sea of Red.
What little video Ive seen of him I havent been that impressed. But I'll take em where we can get em. If he is anything like his brother I could see him having the attitude of not wanting to follow in his brothers shadow. Quote Link to comment
MichiganDad3
The article at the link below says "pending his growth, defensive end" http://www.ocvarsity.com/sports/drake-33038-nebraska-taylor.html Quote Link to comment
Nobody
4.3? We'll take him! Drizzy Drake Quote Link to comment
ZRod
Doesn't look like 4.3 speed, but he does run pretty effortlessly like Taylor. Nothing really too impressive on film, but if he is 4.3 fast I'm sure we could do something with him. And he's got the same tat as Taylor so you know that takes like .2 seconds off his 40 time right there. Quote Link to comment
Haspula
Gonna be fun having Drizzy and Taylor on the same team Quote Link to comment
huskerinacaveman
Not 100% sure we could handle 3 extra years of Martinez. I could be wrong, but right now, just not sure Quote Link to comment
RedTexan
In answer to your question, who was the fastest defensive end ever at Nebraska, I would suggest it was Neil Smith, who at 6'4" and 260, ran a 4.55 forty. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neil_Smith_(American_football) Quote Link to comment
ccm420
drake martinez is not that good......NO WAY he runs a 4.3 LOL Quote Link to comment

flatwaterfan
I would put my money on Jimmy Williams or Mike Croel for fastest DE's. I thought Neil was a DT. Lee Jones was the fastest DT ever but then he really shouldn't of been playing DT at 225. I think Dmart's best spot is fullback. Then I would go with SLB. Quote Link to comment
MichiganDad3
drake martinez is not that good......NO WAY he runs a 4.3 LOL The article say in the 4.3s, so he could be as slow as 4.39 if you believe these stories. I think NU needs speed at DL and LB, so I would be thrilled with a 4.39 LB, and Drake is already as big as L. David. If Drake could add some weight and be faster than Neil Smith I could dream of the days when NUs defense put the fear of God into opposing QBs. Quote Link to comment

Need a speedster on the edge for sure. Either that or re-create Super D. Hopefully today. Quote Link to comment
