Trolling Wisky board

I am glad that we got the correct spot on the 50 yd line 3rd down play. I think the spot they screwed up on was when they spotted the ball at the 13 instead of the 16 on the punt return. I also fell QE caught the ball and demonstrated the catch by trying to extend the ball ONE HANDED towards the goal line. The ball was jarred loose when it was slammed to the ground. It was a catch.

I think players need to stop extending the ball. 1/2 the time it turns a good play into a bad play.

How are Wisconsin fans blaming the referees? Was there even any controversial calls?

Exactly. If anything we have more to gripe about. There were a few sh**ty spots that benefited them and that spot screwup with 1:26 left saved them time which could have been a big issue in the game. And I don't care what anyone says, Enunwa caught that ball. They could have at least reviewed it for Christ's sake.

The only thing I saw that was missed was a small hold on Abdullah's long kickoff return and I'm not sure if I would have called it either.

I went to a wisky board bc I wanted to see what they were saying about the 4th down play. Did you see on the replay that it looked like Ball didn't think he was supposed to get the carry?

Also, lots of insanity- people that think they still can win the BIG, complaining about the refs, headhunting coaches. A lot of what they said was weird and crazy to me/ Is that what we look like to outsiders?

+1 for the Sig.

Yeah that one was obviously a catch. Or maybe I'm not sure about the rules. I thought that stupid "complete the process of the catch" or whatever was just for the NFL. He caught the ball, and it was in his hands when his knee/elbow went down. Seems like a complete process to me.

I hate that rule. When a player is down, the play is over. What happens after that shouldn't matter in any way.

First, I don't think it's that big of an issue among Wisconsin fans or at least on the boards. It was mentioned in a list of several takeways of the game that was predominately about Wisconsin and what they did, and did not do. And like I have said earlier in one of the two posts I made in the in-game thread, I don't think any of the calls or no-calls had a big impact on the game. As far as the calls that people could take issue with, there were several holding penalties that were not made, and yeah sure you can say everyone holds it can't be called every time, but some were pretty blatant. If you rewatch the Taylor Martinez rushing TD, just watch your right tackle.

We(most husker fans) still aren't in the reality that these are still rebuilding years. Look at Bama. They went through 3 coaches.(franchione, price and shula) before they got Saban. If Pelini goes 6-6 after martinez is gone, we may need to replace him like bama replaced shula. It may be unpopular to fire Pelini if he can't get us over the top but that is reality. heck, Texas is in a downward spiral and they don't even know it yet!!!!

If we go 6-6 after Martinez leaves it will NOT be because of quarterback play. I think Tommy Armstrong is going to be one hell of a quarterback.

It cracks me up that the Wisconsin boards are loaded with how they dominated the first half, etc., and then everything changed in the second. They kind of ignore the fact that we basically spotted them 21 points with turnovers and a roughing the kicker call. Yes, we stepped up their game in the second half, but Wisconsin didn't exactly "dominate" the first half.

other points

The offense is good. The defense is still not good. Wisconsin's offense has been terrible all year. I was proud of the fight the team had. Even if we lose tonight, I was proud. This doesn't feel like Bill Clownahan circa 2007 praise the lord!!!!

The defense did what was needed. The offense needs to pick up the D like the D picked up the offense circa 2009.

Can we give -1?

Ehh, that's a pretty good example of the type of holding that occurs on virtually every play. He had the inside of his jersey. If he had a hold of the shoulder area it likely would have been called.

If that's the type of calls people are taking issue with, then there's no real controversy here.

I haven't noticed anyone talk about the Martinez fumble. His arm was going forward on that pass play. It was not reviewed. Everyone around me in the stands was wondering why that didn't get reviewed.

Looked like a fumble to me. Point is, I don't think the officiating had any impact on this game. Big 10 officials don't seem very competent in some of the games I have watched so it could have been much worse.
