Hey K- Probably both. I only read talking points. But I do know I have family at the Buffet owned rail road and their is about 9 trains a day carry it to/thru the US (United States). So you are saying their would not be any of that liquid gold used by the US? China's economy is growing and they now trade the Russians in both their own currencies (the world mostly traded in dollars (benefit and having largest most powerful army is u can manipulate currencies) but now trade in their own currencies because of the weakness of the dollar), (i bolded it to not confuse this- probably too late) but we are still 3.5 times and they need us much more than we need them. Love to buy American when I can. But let's face it, more toyotas, mercedes, bmw, hyundai have more US made parts and built here(in right to work states) than the majority of GM/Ford etc... The latter is built in North America (Canada/Mexico).

Warren Buffet was on Arnold's economic team and President Obama's initial economic team. How is CA economy doing and ours? This all comes down to government operating with less. If they have less, you as a tax payer has more and we are not savers but spenders. So your money is spent locally etc.. and that generates more taxes. Simple stuff. When BHO introduced his economic plan two weeks agop(his book he waved around)was to hire more teachers, think about it.... when has the federal gov hired a teacher? It is done by the city... You pay for a teacher with your property taxes, after it is determined by a local school that it is needed and financed (mayors hate when their books are not balanced). Keeping psending more locale and fed gov out is the best thing for everyone- more personal. But him talking about it, has the same effect as a preseason BO(didn't think I would bring those initials into a discussion did you) presser with the Big 10 sport writers. It gets orgasmic on the boards here, and I admit to taking part in it.

I am actually personally glad that Obama won. An Obama victory is really good for my family in the short term as it stimulates both ways we make our money. By keeping governmental spending up, more money is out in the system. People will gamble more(good for me and my family) because they have all the time in the world to spend the money they didn't earn. I will also continue to get premium for corn prices, the second way my family makes money, because demand will continue to be high due to people on governmental assistance spending "their" money on products that contain HFCS and the continuation of allowing China to prosper at the expense of our people. All this demand will cause more ultra inflated land values, so that I can sell my land for so so much that I can't type that many zeros, and then jet to a safe house somewhere in place that values hard work and does not cater to the won't dos(Ha, maybe China!), because this house of cards will fall and what is good for me right now is not good for my children's future.

Cloture was a political move to make the republican obstructionist to a socialist agenda look silly. Are you forgetting the Nuclear option that Harry Reid installed? I can go all day but the fact remains, that this country has not operated on any Budget that has been submitted by the house to the Senate (yes, led by Harry Reid). That at the very least should concern you. I would hope. BHO did submit one last year that received zero support from either side because it was too radical. If your idea of 3.50 gas (can't put a pipeline through the aquafier- but we put so much oil on our dusty roads and drop a pretty fair amount of fertilizer on our fields) is a good thing, then you will enjoy 4 dollars you will see by March. The pipeline people are in a business. They do not wish to spill profit into our water system and the likelihood is almost zero. Unless ELF decides to sabotage it like they used to burn up SUVs and houses to prove a point about pollution.

I'm sorry, was this ELF sabotage?

I would have been satisfied with either candidate. From what I read about Romney he is a fairly deliberative person who assesses data and makes decisions only after entertaining multiple views and consulting multiple advisors.

romney was a great candidate in 2004 and could have been a great president. who knows? because the republican primary and all of the pandering he had to do left us with a empty shell of a candidate. maybe he would have governed the nation like he governed his state and been a great president, but i had no reason to trust him.

So you're just here to spew extremist derp? You have no response to the post I made, linked to verifiable sources, about Republican obstructionism at historic levels?

Knapplc...whoa, go easy on him.

After all, when you look at his posts, it's obvious he's only in the first steps of the grieving process. Give him some time to get out of denial and anger, and he'll be bargaining with you on facts soon enough.

Even more on point . . . how about the existing pipeline dumping over a million gallons of oil into the Kalamazoo River.

But the chances of that happening are almost zero because they want to make a profit.

I did not know our pipeline was going across bodies of water or an ocean. I really thought it was being built into mother earth (at least a foot or two above the aquifer) where it would be retained and keep safe and warm in case of an accident. I was mistaken and I am sorry. I feel like Texas A&M defending my two additional national titles for the 1919 and 1927 seasons.

Still Curious on any thoughts on Electoral College from a previous post- should it be abandoned, changed, leave it alone.

I want to know where I can get a cool water jet shooting boat like that for Branched Oak Lake (for when President Obama decides to build that pipeline, now that he got full mileage by politically opposing it).

I admit defeat and will crawl into my bunker with my bible and Atlas Shrugged.

It couldn't be that Obama wants more teachers because he wants better educated citizens, who will be more efficient and reliable in the work force, creating higher demand for skilled American labor, thereby increase the revenue of the government, hopefully balancing the budget and alleviating our debt problems over time? Could it?

Um... what? It seems someone is enjoying that new Colorado canibus law already.

Tell me how a pipeline can possibly run from Canada to the Gulf coast without crossing a body of water. I don't even have to look at a map to know that is a physical impossibility.

Assuming that the pipeline won't leak and cause a mess (which is a difficult assumption for me to make even hypothetically), what good will it do our country? Will it lower our gas prices? Will it create jobs for people who aren't already paying union dues? Will it do anything to lessen our dependence on a non-renewable resource? No, it won't.

You apparently haven't seen a map of the United States of America recently . . .

I was mistaken and I am sorry.

You were mistaken but you don't have to be sorry.

Ditch the EC. Popular vote all the way.

Ayn Rand wouldn't approve of that combination.

Z rod- I am going to ignore your comment because again, you think the federal government hires the local teacher. Governemnt may provide (and has) a grant to hire 1000 cops, but those expire and then the municipalites have to pay for them the next years and beyond. That's why when WJF tried it - it failed.

Matthew- I appreciate the help I am in denial, grieving and anger. I usually hit all stages by 5, and Thursday I will be at acceptance

Junior and Hammerhead- your answers are below

I came out of self imposed retirement...Pipeline would sprout huge amount of jobs Nationwide- Norfolk was forecasted to bring 100's of people (family etc..) in it to help maintain and work on it. Yes, it would lower the cost because we need to use more amounts of energy to haul it (trucks, trains), versus gravity feed. Since it is in Canada and they are up there and we are down here, the oil just runs down hill.

Seriously, I am unaware that it was being built over large bodies of water. Here is the map

Now, i realize some of you are agains a pipeline so i just look up Nebraska's current situation in regards to pipeline.

" There are some 20,090 miles of hazardous liquid and natural gas pipelines (includes interstate, intrastate, and distribution lines) in Nebraska.

Pipelines in Nebraska may include large-diameter lines carrying energy products to population centers, as well as small-diameter lines that may deliver natural gas to businesses and households in your neighborhood. The energy products carried in pipelines fuel our lives and our livelihoods. They heat our homes and schools, power our industrial base and enable our daily commutes.

Pipelines are by far the safest method for transporting energy products.

Nebraska is a right to work state so the union guys would hopefully work along side the scabs. We do not even need to think about non renewables for a few hundred years. Natural gas, and oil seems to be produced by pressure from rocks and decayed plants and Bo's qb graveyard. Until we can learn to have a 747 take off under the power of the sun or wind, we are slaves to non renewables.

The secret is we need to get away from corn. Corn is sexy to politicians that wish to give out subsidies, but it does not make sense to use a human consumable food product (importance of corn in our food chain- feed- syrup etc). Plus it can take up to 118 gallons of water to produce a gallon of gas. Not to mention pesticides farmers fuels etc... highly uneconomical. Now the best two are switch grass and hemp. We can no longer transport the tonnage needed on grass (the first one) because we have turned a lot of train tracks into bike trails. It takes lots of grass to make fuel but it can be done. The second is hemp- now that one is not sexy at all, because you could grow enough hemp (one acre equals 10 tons of bio mass fuel) in a city block to power 30 cars for 4 months. Pretty efficient isn't it. But the government would not be bale to tax it very well if u grown ur own (refer back to my orgasm on how people get pot legalize the government can tax it etc,,, right- people will grown their own). Plus the $10 billion given out to farmers for corn would cease and the people selling pesticides, fertilizers, and fuel to run water pumps would have a large economic impact. Good news for us is beef price milk price taxes all go down and we ship corn abroad.

Now, a lot of us are from Lincoln. Think about these two things my government friends. LES runs campaigns every year on how to save electricity, right? When the sun doesn't emit as much heat during a cooler summer and we don't kick on the ac what happens to your rates in the fall? They go up. The government is not in the business for us to save and conserve much.. now part two. ANy of you have friend that work at Kawasaki? It is a great production plant here at the edge of town doing great work on rail cars etc... Talk to a plant manager and ask if they can recapture part of the plants energy output and reuse. Lets use HP/KW/BTU interchangably for the sake of example.

Lets say Kawasaki outputs 100 HP an hour. The Japanese have the technology to capture 16-18% of that energy that is wasted (some of u may recall cars that store its own energy for brakes and propulsion). Our government does not allow that tech to be used in the US. I worked at a mid size facility in town here where the energy bill (just electric) exceeded 175 K a month. Now imagine if that bill was 17 % less and what an employer could do with 29 K more a month?

Sorry to be so long winded, but solar and wind are not net gains as nuclear and other resources we currently have. We are slaves to oil, and we will not use our own for some time. Think about taking a buddy hunting or fishing- usually u use his land or pond first. Oil consumption is like that. The country with it in the end, will dominate the world once again. So it is better use theirs, than ours. But the fact is, our wells that dried up in the 70's are full of it now. Indian land, colorado etc... are sitting on trillions of the stuff.
