Good find and I agree with Mile's rationale. While extra experience would be nice, our players are obviously tired with such a short bench and we probably should focus more on recruiting.

I'm not sure I'm a fan of passing up more practice time no matter what form it come in but I won't argue with Miles in this case.

 

I would buy not wanting to be the first B1G team to play in the lower tournaments, especially as we're the new kid on the block.

Thx, Minn-Husker... thought I heard something along those lines... Poop on that paying to play (post season) stuff. Rewards are earned by the efforts not by paying in cash!

I get both sides of the argument. I would keep playing for the simple fact that I think Ubel deserves it if he wants it.

 

CBI championship doesnt help recruiting--doesnt hurt it either.

 

If you have 10 guys returning next year, you enter... problem is unless you run out guys like Vucetic/parker and other guys who havent played a ton, you are just running with the 7 we know about.

I agree wholeheartedly with the decision to pass. It doesn't make sense for our team to be 'rewarded' for a losing record in my opinion. I wonder how close we were to making the NIT and accomplishing the team's secondary goal?

To be fair, just about every sport except football loses money (and even at A LOT of schools, football is a money pit).

Ohh, I definitely agree. My point was that if it were just about the money, we'd probably only compete in one sport.

Volleyball thinks they will be close to break-even with increased ticket sales at Devaney. Men's basketball is probably in decent shape with BTN money.
