EbylHusker
Actually, I don't really care whether Bo says or goes. There are too many unknowns in this situation for me to feel like I could make an informed decision. That wasn't a statement of support for Bo, but a laugh at all the angst that is already here, and no doubt incoming. It's one thing to care, it's another to take it to the extent many here are. 3 Quote Link to comment
In the Deed the Glory
If this is true then I support the university's decision. I hope these issues that have plagued this football team are resolved in the off season 4 Quote Link to comment
TemporarySaint
If he was going to fire him, he'd do it. You don't wait til after a bowl game. 1 Quote Link to comment
Mavric
This may be nothing more than Eichorst showing his support thru the bowl season. It's still possible Eichorst is searching for a replacement and will make the changes following our bowl game. i hope not. that would be horrible. you have to move fast so the new guy can get his ducks in a row and start recruiting. and, honestly, it would be unfair to bo. he needs to move on and figure out what he can do. True but Eichorst may have made his decision already but can't "officially" do anything until after the bowl game. This is assuming of course the "replacement" is or will be coaching in a bowl game as well. Purely hypothetical on my part of course. After the bowl game is WAY too close to NSD. Unless you have an absolute slam dunk coming in - and there's basically no way we can have someone like that lined up already. Quote Link to comment
beanman
The only explanation is the buyout of their contracts. Quote Link to comment
Dan_F_31
I, for one, look forward to a mistake riddled bowl performance. It's really entertaining when I can almost pinpoint the moments the team will have a penalty, fumble, interception or horrific special teams play. Gives me something else to do instead of shake my head in disgust. But hey, these kids will run through a wall for Bo but learning and playing fundamentally sound football is where they draw the line. 4 Quote Link to comment
teachercd
I pretty much hate to see anyone get fired but if this holds true it will make for a pretty boring off-season. 1 Quote Link to comment

Since this is Nebraska and theoretically we can hire who ever we want because this is Nebraska and were the Corn-damn-huskers, Saban would be considered a "slam dunk", no? Quote Link to comment

BigRedPowerWagon
I think this is the mans last chance. If it gets bad during the bowl game the outcry will be to great and hes gone. Or they want to try and sweet talk the players into staying. Either way they have given him just enough rope to hang himself with. Either he fu#*$ up and dies or he goes to the Big10 champ game next season. One more year to prove yourself Bo otherwise you got no one else on your side. Quote Link to comment

Purely hypothetical on my part of course. after rereading the entire release, there are certainly some vagaries there. it was a very diplomatic thing to say to at least get us to the bowl game. but i think it would be a colossal mistake not to make the change as soon as possible, if you are going to replace bo. jsneb83
I am ok with giving Bo 1-2 more years. Yes this year didn't go as planned, but we saw a defense get better throughout the year with alot of first year players and a bunch of first year contributors on an offense riddled with injuries. The future looks bright, and I would like to see Bo have his chance with these players. 5 Quote Link to comment
