Abdullah the Butcher
Ole Miss was screwed, that was a face mask on the fumble. Quote Link to comment
deedsker
Joel Stave gets picked after a lineman hits his hand. Northwestern threatening inside the redzone. Quote Link to comment

Mavric
Ole Miss was screwed, that was a face mask on the fumble. Don't think so. He didn't grab it. No inadvertent anymore. Quote Link to comment

In every game I've watched, that meant inadvertent facemasks count as 15 yard penalties now. You don't have to grab the facemask for any extended amount of time to get the 15 yard penalty. deedsker
And add Wisconsin to the list of kicker searches. Quote Link to comment
Army_Allen
This Wiscy D is looking BAD right now. Gordon is carrying them. Stave is a better passer than Mcevoy but he can't stay upright long enough with the lack of pass pro. Quote Link to comment

Not according to the rule book: No player shall grasp and then twist, turn or pull the face mask, chin strap or any helmet opening of an opponent. It is not a foul if the face mask, chin trap or helmet opening is not grasped and then twisted, turned or pulled. When in question, it is a foul. Link Quote Link to comment

It seems to be called a lot more, though. Quote Link to comment
Army_Allen
That was a foul straight up Mav. he pushed the facemask away on purpose to the point where the players head was twisting. You don't have to grab for it to be facemask/illegal hands to the face, pushing works just as well. Quote Link to comment

Mavric
Incidentally, this is why I often find it humorous when people complain about how bad the refs are. A lot of times it's because they don't know the rules themselves. You've taken it to another level by being shown what the rule is and still insisting the refs screwed it up. Quote Link to comment
Army_Allen
I find it hilarious when people assume he had no intent when its clear he clinged onto the side of the guard and pulled. Quote Link to comment
deedsker
Looks like he caught part and twisted, realized he had it and let go to swipe again. I would call that a facemask. Quote Link to comment
