Kernal
Tired of hearing the players didn't execute... no kidding. If the players consistently aren't executing the scheme on defense, or offense, when will we change the scheme into something that the players can execute? If it's about willingness rather than ability, why is the culture such that the players are unwilling to trust the scheme and execute it? 3 Quote Link to comment

HuskerInLostWages
The scheme works, if the f'n fans and players execute it. Bo knows the scheme works, Beck knows it works, they just need the players to execute and the f'n fans to stay outta their way. Quote Link to comment
chamrocck
One of the best plays of the day...Zaire is confused and Minny snaps the ball and he just shoots the gap and blows up the ball carrier for TFL. Good thing he did not get the call or he would have just found a block to run into. Quote Link to comment
grandpasknee
As soon as you bring in new coaches with new schemes. Even your scary clown avi doesn't bother me as much anymore. The time to change schemes was 1 - 2 years ago. Quote Link to comment

strigori
Well, a good college coach builds his scheme to suit his players. Pelini has a NFL mentality, the system trumps the players. Quote Link to comment

He's smart enough to know that those giant linemen that grow on trees up there are the key to winning. I'm also pretty sure Alvarez made that clear in the interview process. That man built Wisconsin and understands who to keep it there. 3 coaches there, and the offense and mentality remain the same. Run the ball and play defense. Quote Link to comment
Danny Bateman
This was my whole problem with Shanle's diatribe about the players not executing. They're not executing because the scheme is TOO! DAMN! HARD!Not everyone plays in the NFL and can understand this stuff like the back of their hand, Scott. These are effing 18, 19, 20 yeard old kids. alwayshusking
Not being able to execute is what every failed coach says. The job description of a coach is literally to get the players to execute what you want them to. If you can't, you ain't much of a coach. Quote Link to comment

I'd agree that the scheme does work -- but only if players are disciplined. And how does a player learn discipline? From his head coach. What happens if the head coach lacks discipline? Scoreboard, that's what happens. That's why Bo must go. Quote Link to comment
