Hey, no problem at all. The hatred for that school down in Tucson burns deeply within me.

ASU definitely has a lot going for it right now. It is a beautiful campus and has a lot to offer that an incoming freshman could be swayed by. And the team is certainly doing well; Todd Graham is absolutely loved by his players and I can imagine he puts together a good story for recruits. The biggest adjustment will be attending a school with 70,000 plus students; that can be pretty daunting for an 18 year old kid. I know it was for me. Still a bummer to lose a local Nebraska kid, but I wish him well.

 

Certain advantages I get it- I like Rich Rod though

Gal I dated after I returned home from college went to ASU- runner up Miss Nebraska. From a couple of her school pics- I get it a bit

She said she wasn't anything special on the ASU campus, I wouldn't know when we toured it, school wasn't in session

I graduated from a 50,000 student Uni- yes there is a lot to be impressed with- certain kids

More power to him- wish him well

Because be was a crappy coach that rode the coat tails of predecessors?

Erickson is a solid coach imo, but he's more of a quick turnaround/success artist rather than a program builder. Did well at places that had the infrastructure built for him.

Dennis Erickson never failed. Must be someone else's fault. I mean....just look at his record at Oregon St. The guy is a legend.

 

Besides, why would you be interest in any insight into why Erickson had some rough seasons. You've been given a few hundred posts worth of insight as to why Mike Riley had some rough years at Oregon St. That doesn't seem to interest you.

I've met him before when my high school camped at Oregon St, he was an alright guy, I remember him talking about coaching The Rock - liked the nose candy a little too much in college. Anyway, his stops have been short and he owes a lot to those who built a program before him, nothing against the guy, but don't think he could build or sustain a program.

I would have to agree with you about OSU

For coaches coaching 4 years or more he holds the record for highest winning % and of course highest ranking in OSU history- the team that went 11-1 and finished 4th in nation

And right in the middle of the Mike Riley tenure at a place a lot of people think is impossible to win at consistently, which they were wrong about

Sometimes guys only stay at a job for sure about a time because they can go get a bigger contract and start all over with guaranteed money somewhere new. Not necessarily a bad thing.

Very nice run at Idaho 4 year turnaround, consistent success

Quick 2 year turnaround at Washington State

Played for 4 National Championships at Miami- won 2

Set records at Oregon State 31-17

One year jump back to Idaho got them from 2 to 4 wins

Then after a quick start at ASU- 10-3 kind of fizzled out

Looked like ASU would have worked out well for him

NFL- mixed success, not that it matters
