LSLHusker
Just curious about our D-line coach. I know he is perceived to be the weakest link on the staff by many on the board, but we rarely, if ever, see or hear anything related to him. Nothing in the press, on the recruiting trail or even from the players he coaches. What is the story here? Quote Link to comment
Scratchtown
Never knew he was perceived as the weakest. That's news to me 2 Quote Link to comment
True2tRA
Never knew he was perceived as the weakest. That's news to me I hadn't seen that either. I don't know a whole lot about the guy though like the OP says. He's kind of been the lesser talked about one of the bunch. Quote Link to comment
ADS
Looking at where his defenses ranked while he was the DC at UCONN he doesn't seem to be the "weak link" at all. Quote Link to comment
True2tRA
"Play fast, play hard, and be very aggressive"- Hank Hughes. Short interview Good article on Hank Hughes : http://www.uconnhuskies.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/hughes_hank00.html And some freaking stunning numbers, kind of shocked at some of the statistics here. Hammerhead
Doesn't sound like much of a weak link to me. Quote Link to comment
kchusker_chris
...if that's the weakest link -- then I think SE is on to something here... 1 Quote Link to comment
jsneb83
I've heard that he is a liability in recruiting, and based on the lack of D-line commits, that certainly could be true. However, I will give him more than 8 months before I pass judgement. Quote Link to comment

Mavric
So do we have a nomination for weakest link or we're just saying it's not Hughes? Quote Link to comment
Scratchtown
So do we have a nomination for weakest link or we're just saying it's not Hughes? Does their have to be one? My vote is for the graduate manager that came with Hughes. 1 Quote Link to comment

My vote is for the graduate manager that came with Hughes. How does it go on a coaching staff...if you look around the coaches office and can't spot the weak link...it is you. My weak links have always been "parent" volunteers...luckily NU doesn't have those (anymore) Quote Link to comment
NUance
I think I'll wait until the Blackshirts play one defensive series before I pass judgement on the guy and dismiss him as the weakest link. Or maybe I'll be patient and give him a whole quarter. /sarcasm 3 Quote Link to comment
DomiNUs
This thread only highlights the fact that Hank Hughes is anything but a weak link. There is a possibility that there are no "weak links" in our coaching chain. At least not yet, without having played one game yet. Quote Link to comment
