The General Election

Trump is up in Iowa, Nevada, Ohio, NC, and Colorado currently.

LINK Chance of winning the state.

Iowa = Yes, currently he is beating Hillary. However, the polls coming in after the debate show him turning south.

Nevada = Is basically dead even. At the time of this post Hillary is up 50.7 to 49.3.

NC = Trump is up but barely. He has a 52.4 chance to Hillary's 48.6. But...once again...since the debate, he has turned south sharply.

CO = Hillary is up big at 66.7 % chance of winning and has turned north since debate.

I get that Hillary will get a bit of a boost after the debate as Trump was awful (don't say I never criticize Trump as I have many times in here). But, one debate is not going to move the numbers that much and for that long. We still have the VP debate and 2 more Presidential debates, and after how bad Trump did in the first debate, his expectations will be even lower for the next two. Also, Julian Assange will likely strike again. The way this race is going, when Hillary has some negative news, Trump trends up, when Trump has negative news, Hillary trends up.

I really don't see Hillary winning Iowa or North Carolina, Nevada and Colorado are more of toss ups. I'm honestly not sure what happened in Colorado as Hillary was up big a month ago and she pulled all of her resources out of the state.

Last week the Trump kids got the campaign off-message, and this week it appears Chelsea is doing the same, whether it was referring to Bill's victims as a "distraction" or talking about how Marijuana can kill. The latter is probably not the message HIllary's team wants even considered as she is trying to attract more millennials and regain some footing in Colorado.

The Trump Campaign issues talking points to its supporters. Some things are starting to make more sense.

What is starting to make sense? I created the thread about "You have the right to be heard" well before today and have said for months that this would be a campaign issue given how HIllary demonized these women, calling them Bimbos, Looney, etc..., and of course my favorite, claiming the stories were false and simply a "vast right-wing conspiracy." It seems those left-talking points are still around today as anything Hillary has done is of course a "conspiracy."

This election really has been an educational experience for me. I really didn't think party lines ran so deep in this nation to the point that a minimum of 40% will vote for one of two parties regardless of how grossly unfit for office their candidate may be. Hillary is a sh**ty candidate, but Trump should have been laughed out of this process from the start - even if only because of his birther movement.

Right? I would like to think if this election was Ted Cruz (a man I despise politically) vs. Kanye West, I would not hesitate to vote for Cruz.

"Mr. Trump has never treated women the way Hillary Clinton and her husband did when they actively worked to destroy Bill Clinton's accusers," one talking point reads.
"Hillary Clinton bullied and smeared women like Paula Jones, Gennifer Flowers and Monica Lewinsky," reads another.
"Are you blaming Hillary for Bill's infidelities? No, however, she's been an active participant in trying to destroy the women who has come forward with a claim," reads a third.

We have heard these EXACT talking points from the Trump supporters on this site.

Trump deepens attack on former Miss Universe, calling her disgusting

Politico reported that Machado has starred in racy reality TV programs and posed naked for Playboy's Mexican version, but said media outlets have found no evidence that she has starred in pornographic films.

In rising to bait over the Machado issue Trump is in some ways echoing his lengthy public dispute in August with the parents of a Muslim Army captain killed in Iraq. That incident caused anguish among many Republican leaders concerned that he had nothing to gain by attacking a grieving family.

His remarks on Friday could hurt Trump further with women and Hispanic voters, both groups that favor Clinton in opinion polls.

An average of opinion polls aggregated by RealClearPolitics showed Clinton ahead of Trump by 2.9 percentage points on Friday, or 47.3 points to 44.4, slightly lower than the previous margin of 3 points on Wednesday, but well up from 0.9 point on Sept. 19. The latest Reuters/Ipsos national tracking poll, released on Wednesday, showed Clinton leading by 42 percent to Trump's 38 percent among likely voters.
