Callahan had no interest in doing it. Bo resented the tradition and the pressure/expectations it brought. Riley definitely tried to leverage it but it wasn't authentic without the ties to it himself.

 

Mo is going to now know what it feels like to win games at Nebraska this season. His confidence and attitude are so awesome.

Barry is an incredible leader. Everything he says to the team, to the media, and to fans has everything “Husker” and “Leader” embodied into it. I feel we are lucky to go through this transition period with him in his Jr and Sr year, helping out the others. We are nowhere near where we want to be yet, but I can only imagine how much closer we will be than we would be without Barry.

and is really proving to be an example for the rest of the team...a true "do what I do and what I say..."

I said last year this defense was going to become good when there were 11 Mo Barry’s on the field. Now there are a million, so we gonna be really good.
