I still find this whole thing very interesting when we start realizing how the Russians were using the NRA and how involved the NRA was with American politics and propaganda.

The concerning issue for me is that Mueller failed to charge Jr. and Kushner for conspiracy because they were too stupid to know it was illegal, and they couldn't put a monetary figure to it. Will this be the second time that team Trump gets off because we are to afraid to interpret the law? This is an almost identical scenario. They are seeking dirt from a foreign government against a political rival. This is conspiracy!

For us common folk ignorance has never been a viable defense, and rarely does the justice system back off when they have to make a difficult interpretation of the law.

We are seeing more and more evidence of a mob mentality of this Trump administration.  Strong arming leaders outside of our country, creating alliance or showing openness to dictators (think: Other Mob Bosses) and pressuring those within our own govt to bend to the mob bosses wishes.

Below, we have another whistleblower complain -  tied this time to Trump's tax returns and the possible alteration of them.

An Internal Revenue Service official has filed a whistleblower complaint reporting that he was told that at least one Treasury Department political appointee attempted to improperly interfere with the annual audit of the president’s or vice president’s tax returns, according to multiple people familiar with the document.

The IRS complaint has come amid the escalating legal battle between the Treasury Department and House Democrats over the release of President Trump’s tax returns. Part of that inquiry from Democrats is over how the IRS conducts its annual audit of the president’s and vice president’s tax returns. That process is supposed to be walled off from political appointees and interference.

That was the focus of the whistleblower complaint, whose existence was revealed in a court filing several months ago, though little about it had become public. The people briefed on its contents said, for the first time, that the complaint pertained to allegations of interference in the audit process by at least one Treasury Department official. They also said, for the first time, that the complaint revealed that the whistleblower is a career IRS official.

The whistleblower’s account focuses on the integrity of the government’s system for auditing the president’s and vice president’s tax returns.

President Trump has broken decades of precedent by refusing to publicly release his tax returns. Democrats filed a lawsuit earlier this year demanding the disclosure of those filings, invoking a federal law designed to give Congress access to any tax return.

The IRS complaint has received less attention than the intelligence community complaint but has divided government officials.

Two administration officials have described the IRS complaint as hearsay and suggested it was politically motivated, but they spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the matter. Democrats who have reviewed it regard it as a deeply significant allegation that, if true, suggests that political appointees may have tried to interfere with the government audit process, which was set up to be insulated from political pressures.

Key parts of the complaint remain under wraps in part because of strict privacy laws that prevent the disclosure of any details related to the filing of tax returns.

People who described the complaint spoke on the condition of anonymity.

Rep. Richard E. Neal (D-Mass.), the chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, who received the whistleblower’s complaint in July, said in court filings this summer that the complaint contains credible evidence of “potential ‘inappropriate efforts to influence’ the mandatory audit program.” Neal has also said the complaint raises “serious and urgent concerns.”

The whistleblower, a career official at the IRS, confirmed in an interview with The Washington Post this week that he had filed a formal complaint and sent it to the tax committee chairs in both houses of Congress, including Sen. Charles E. Grassley (R-Iowa), and to the Treasury Department Inspector General for Tax Administration on July 29.

Republicans will fire back about how the Obama administration unfairly targeted right wing political groups for auditing. The truth is that they targeted both sides of the isle, and that the Trump administration declined to pursue charges against Lois Lerner after the FBI concluded their investigation with no criminal charges filed.

I think the left wing propaganda is off base here.  Trump was pushing the DOJ to put pressure on the IRS to end his audits so he can finally release them to the public.

I hope a few more GOP senators speak out.

Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) on Friday broke sharply with President Trump's call for China and Ukraine to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden, calling it "wrong and appalling."

"When the only American citizen President Trump singles out for China’s investigation is his political opponent in the midst of the Democratic nomination process, it strains credulity to suggest that it is anything other than politically motivated," Romney said in a statement, which he also tweeted out.

The day before, Trump floated to reporters outside of the White House that the two countries should probe Biden, the Democratic 2020 front-runner, and his son, Hunter Biden, even as House Democrats work on an impeachment inquiry centered on allegations that Trump sought to withhold aid to Ukraine as an effort to get Kiev to launch a probe.
