nu4everfan15
just saw it on rivals 5 minutes ago, apparently it is true. Well this was on the verge of happening before, so I am not suprised. Good luck to him though Quote Link to comment
HuskerfaninOkieland
What's his reasoning? Quote Link to comment
pigsonthewing
What's his reasoning? too much depth at IB would be my guess. Quote Link to comment
HuskerfaninOkieland
At 6'2" and 4.4 speed, he'd make a helluva cornerback or safety. Wonder why he's not moving to that position and letting Fluellen move back to WR. Quote Link to comment
Silent Commit
Besides Stouder, Leon, Harrison and Rands, has anyone else from the stellar recruiting class of 2005 left the team? It's sad to see talent like this jump ship....but I guess it happens in the college football world. I wish Leon the best....I don't blame him for his decision....I'm not blaming the coaches either. husker rob
reported in LJS today Jackson leaves Huskers BY STEVEN M. SIPPLE / Lincoln Journal Star Thursday, Aug 10, 2006 - 12:46:27 pm CDT Leon Jackson’s rather tumultuous stay at Nebraska ended Thursday morning. The sophomore running back informed Husker coach Bill Callahan that he was leaving the team and hopes to play for another Division I-A program, Leon Jackson Sr. said. Jackson Sr. said it was an amicable parting — one initiated by the player. “They just came to a mutual agreement,” Jackson Sr. said. “There were no hard feelings. Coach Callahan expressed that he didn’t want to see Leon go, but that he wanted what was best for him.” Jackson, a 6-foot-1, 210-pound native of Pasco, Wash., will look at several schools, but Oregon State and Oregon top his list, Jackson Sr. said. Advertisement The younger Jackson was in a battle for playing time with junior Brandon Jackson, junior college transfer Kenny Wilson, and sophomores Cody Glenn and Marlon Lucky. “It just wasn’t working out,” Jackson Sr. said. “Rather than stay there and be frustrated, he just wanted to go somewhere else. He wanted to thank Nebraska’s fans for all of their support.” Jackson had left the team on his own accord this past April, but later felt he made a mistake and on May 2 was reinstated to the squad with Callahan’s blessing. Jackson’s grades are in good shape, Jackson Sr. said. “He stayed there all summer and worked on them,” the elder Jackson said. “He just felt like, football-wise, he didn’t fit the scheme of what they’re trying to do.” In the April 15 Red-White Game, Jackson carried 12 times for 52 yards while seeing action for both teams. Last season, he had trouble finding a stable position, starting out at running back, moving to safety, then to wide receiver. He moved back to running back in the spring. Jackson will try to enroll at another school in time for the fall semester, Jackson Sr. said. He will have to sit out of games this season, but can continue to practice. Quote Link to comment

husker rob
I wonder if a certian QB and a certain RB had discussions about there status on the team before Quote Link to comment
GSG
If they did, I wouldn't be surprised if they ended up at the same school. That would be a little "weird" wouldn't it?? Moving on....... Quote Link to comment

Washusker
I guess I can't blame him. Try breaking through the Wilson-Lucky-Glenn trifecta!! Quote Link to comment
ttheKid1*18
You know what's funny about this whole thing? When Jackson committed he knew what he was getting himself into. He saw the second best back in the nation. He saw the bruiser that was Cody Glenn. He knew Ross was already here, as well as Brandon Jackson. And yet, he complained last year when he wasn't playing enough and now this year he left the team twice. Twice! Oh well. Get out of here Leon. We already lost a fourth string qb. I am pretty sure we can lose a fourth or fifth or whatever string rb you were for the team. Quote Link to comment
