seaofred92
Hopefully someone that can recruit/develop bigs and values defensive rebounding. So basically someone every single school in the country would want sans like Houston. Lol. Quote Link to comment
HuskermanMike
Not official yet. But a name to watch is South Alabama Associate Coach Adam Howard. He is a defensive guy that can recruit and is definitely someone we could use to get these guys playing better defense. At South Alabama he used match up zones and put in some full court pressure on makes. Should be interesting to see what he can do defensively IF he is hired. https://usajaguars.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/coaches/adam-howard/1884 4 Quote Link to comment
BigRedBuster
So, a good recruiter but better coach than we had before? Quote Link to comment
Comish
Supposedly a defensive in-your-face type of pressuring defensive advocate. We can only hope. (I remember when we hired Doc the first time, his presser told us his defensive style would be akin to watching a tennis match because of the constant back and forth issues it would necessitate for the watcher. Turned out..........Ahh, not so much in reality. Quote Link to comment

The sad reality is unless we put an emphasis on blocking out (which we haven’t done for what feels like at least 5+ years) we will continue to lose games. We play poor defense as it is and then on top of that we don’t finish possessions by defensive rebounding. Quote Link to comment

But, wasn't his defense pretty good the first time he was here and that's why he was brought back as the defensive coach? Quote Link to comment

I was just ruminating on remembering how his introductory presser (I was listening on the radio) gushed about how they would be almost frantic (my wording) on defensive pressures. Alas, we eventually morphed into bottom feeders statistically........especially guarding the 3. Quote Link to comment
Mavric
Abdelmassih now working as an agent with Octagon Sports & Entertainment. He and Hoiberg are still close. May be beneficial in the NIL space down the road. 3 Quote Link to comment

Adam Howard replaced Abdelmassih & Doc's position was eliminated. They announced a couple of Graduate Manager's last week. https://huskers.com/news/2022/6/1/mens-basketball-bania-and-borders-join-staff-as-graduate-managers.aspx 2 Quote Link to comment
