I worked a a small school and was voluntold I was going to be the JV girls coach.  I wrestled in HS and never played on any organized basketball team. The Xs and Os were not too difficult at that level for me, but . . . During one game player A was supposed to pass to player B, but never did.  I asked her what was up and essentially they had a little disagreement in study hall and A was mad at B.  If I had to do this again I would have more "team building" meetings / events.  It is a lot more applied sociology than coaching

I coach my daughters basketball teams and it can be a fun experience.....as long as you prepare yourself for the gymnasium echoing from copious amounts of excited screaming.  : )
