Watching finale now. Dany should've made an aircraft carrier.

Ha ha!  That's what I was thinking.  Three ships with giant bird perches.  Those things surely can't fly all the way without stopping, can they?

btw, I don't think I'd wanna be a deckhand on those ships.  I imagine a dragon would be hungry after flying a few hundred miles.

It's just like the story of the grasshopper and the octopus. All year long, the grasshopper kept burying acorns for winter, while the octopus mooched off his girlfriend and watched TV. But then winter came and the grasshopper died. And the octopus ate all his acorns. Also he got a race car. Is any of this getting through to you?

Haha!

The new Daario is much better. Loyal to the books, I don't know, but maybe a three-pronged blue beard with pointed gold mustachio tips wasn't a fantasy author's best piece of work.

Agree. Neither was having Daeny put perfume on her nipples and womanhood, or describing Tyrion's penis in minute detail. It's "ugly, thick and veined, with a bulbous purple head," in case you were curious.

Here's a vagina one: "The queen slid a finger into that Myrish swamp, then another..."

I would have divorced/dumped him immediately upon reading that if he was my significant other.

Yes. That's what I'm saying. But the "good guys" version which is actually stated in the books was that it was kidnapping. I was just wondering if the books/show ever indicated that the good guys were wrong. Other than talking about how honorable that particular Targaryen actually was in every other way.

If she wasn't kidnapped, then why was Ned Stark there killing people in what seemed like a rescue attempt?

They should make a prequel to GOT once this show ends.  Kinda like Better Call Saul

Pretty sure that HBO has already began talks.  There are two story lines they could go with.  Robert's Rebellion which they already have license to do from the original deal with George RR Martin.  The other is Dunk and Egg.  That one would have to be licensed and I'm assuming GRRM would charge a premium knowing how successful the first deal was for HBO.  Kind of like your second contract with NFL being your payday contract.

Is it just me or are the Sparrows worse than Cersei and her ilk? At least Cersei doesn't pretend to be good. I think they deserved what they got. The others though, not so much.

Yeah, I thought the Sparrows were a bit of a tedious storyline. I suppose it's good that things are finally moving now. GOT is nothing if not tedious, though.

I remember watching season 1 and thinking, "Oh, OK, Dany is going to go to Westeros soon, now that her origin story is just about wrapped up."

It might finally happen in one of these next two seasons...maybe.

That's been my biggest, big criticism of the show since the beginning, too, but Season 6's pace was pretty stellar.

It was the same in the books. It does kinda crack me up in the show how fast people travel though. Tyrion needs to be halfway across the world and he's there 3 episodes later. Need Arya to do something? Bam 1 episode later and she's there.

It takes 3 books to do the same thing - or in real world time, 10 years(?).

Unfortunately, he's not her type. At the very least he'd have to shave.

Yes!  There are probably  half a dozen characters that would make great prequels.

I thought previous GoT seasons had 10 episodes, but I could me wrong. Either way, the last 2 seasons are really one season, split into two.

Game of Thrones

MTV asked Pilou Asbæk at the premiere of Ghost in the Shell, “just how much sh#t Euron Greyjoy was going to start in season seven”. The actor replied:

Enough to get satisfied — good satisfied.

Ominous words from a Greyjoy.

I told my God-fearing mother I want to watch a couple episodes of GOT with her but it has a lot of sword violence and lots of boobs.

Is "sword violence" a euphemism for what Renley and Lorus do together?

You're probably right even though I've had to turn away from a few of those gay sex scenes. Gives me the willies. I wish my mom was still around to watch GoT. I'm sure she'd like it.

Re-watching the show now. I still HATE the part when Tyrion saves everyone's ass and then gets no credit or thanks. Can't wait to see *spoiler* kill Cersei.

Not since she bit Joffrey defending Arya, and Arya had to said goodbye.

Everything You Need to Know About Azor Ahai, the Game of Thrones Prophecy That Could Save Westeros

HBO released the first series of official photos for Game of Thrones season seven this week. They didn’t spoil much, but there was one reveal that hints at a major plot development next season. We’re talking, of course, about Azor Ahai.

As io9 reported earlier this week, a season seven photo of Samwell and Gilly at the Citadel shows Gilly reading the legend of Azor Ahai, a mythical hero whose resurrection was prophesied by Melisandre. According to a Reddit post, the passage is ripped almost verbatim from George R.R. Martin’s series compendium, A World of Ice and Fire.

I know the popular opinion is that it's Jon, but that article makes a compelling case for Dany.

We should make predictions now before it's too late. I have one based on the books that I'll block out.

Spoiler

Tyrion will ride the gold dragon.

Dany and Jon will take care of the zombie infestation before dealing with the less important issues like Cersei.

Ok that's all I've got but maybe I'll think of more on my rewatch.
