      Bama doesn't need to pay players. Ya, they probably did in the past, but I highly doubt they NEED any one recruit badly enough to pay them - Saban has more talent that he knows what to do with.

    LINK To be fair, the only game possible for this half of the season would have been the UCLA game, but ESPN/ABC instead chose Notre Dame at Purdue. I suppose the fact that Notre Dame played for a national championship last year factors into that, as well as the fact that we gave up a near-record number of yards to UCLA last year. Another prime-time blowout loss by Nebraska is NOT what the suits at ESPN/ABC consider good primetime TV. Because Turdue isn't going to get their asses kicked?
