  1. What a S&!t show! MR is imcompetent, Diaco is a douche. I just can't wait to get rid of these guys and hopefully get a good ole Nebraska guy (can you say Scott Frost) back here.
  2. Amen Brotha! I've been hibernating for 3 years and just see a ray of hope now. I just hope to heck that he just goes and gets Frost and doesn't try to put some personal renegade stamp on the hiring. Anxiously waiting and hoping! Bring Scotty home!
  3. Just waiting for the coach to be gone, like I have for 3 years... And hopefully Frost to bring some hope and excitement back!
  4. Moos, don't try to put your "stamp" on the program, just get Scott Frost!
  5. Realistic: Frost Les Miles Bohl Possibly: Leach Chip Calhoun Probably: Smaller school guy like Mike Norvell Solich, Gill
  6. https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/colleges/college-footballs-new-cradle-of-coaches-is-the-aac/2017/10/12/14bbb464-af5b-11e7-a908-a3470754bbb9_story.html?utm_term=.877c5dfe68d0
  7. Yeah, could be a hatchet man but there's really no logic in doing that anyway, a longer term guy could easily fire Riley. Would you want someone who succeeded in his budget or failed? (even if it's harder to fail here) He has no connections and doesn't know Nebraska. Does he even know one person in Nebraska. He just used to watch NU-OU games. His personality/style might fit in well but doesn't know NEbraska. Mike Riley's personality might fit in but he sure doesn't know NE. I hope you're right in Rimington or similar in a couple years (but then only sign Moos to 2 years!). Frost MAY like the guy but he would almost certainly rather work with one of the other guys. Every decent AD in the country should know who Frost is! Do you KNOW what kind of search and hire he would do? It's all question marks with him. I'm not saying it's a terrible hire (like I said Callahan and Riley were), but there sure seem to be a lot more question marks with Moos than some of the others. I certainly hope he works out but with uncertainty comes apprehension. I think you have my favorite picture
  8. Not sure I understand this hire. Why get a guy who is past retirement age to run the future of your athletics program? Why get a guy who has his department in a huge budget deficit? Why NOT get someone with Nebraska ties who would know the culture of the program? Why NOT get someone with Nebraska ties who would already have an "in" of familiarity and trust with boosters/fans for fundraising? I'd have a lot more trust in giving money to Paul Meyers, Trev Alberts, Rimington, Ed Stewart, etc.. then some unknown dude. Why NOT get a guy who we know Frosty would like to work for? Makes me nervous about a hopeful coaching hire. This fan base is almost lost of hope, another WTF coaching hire and you could lose a big chunk for a long time. Just get Scott Frost here and you'll be ok, Moose!
  9. He inherited a 0 win team and led them to 6 wins and a bowl game. That was the biggest turnaround in the country last year and the 4th biggest in the NCAA in the last 20 years. I'd say that's pretty impressive on a resume. Mike Riley inherited a 9 win team and led them to 6 wins. You have to look at the context, there's a big difference in 6 win seasons there even though the win total is the same.
  10. Did someone take a shot of tequila every time Wisconsin ran the ball? ;-)
  11. Remember when we used to be the physical team who demoralized the opponent. Golly gee, I sure miss that. MR and staff have helped us know what the other teams used to feel like, being the bully feels better :). I've said Riley sucks since the day he was hired and caught a lot of crap for it, I stand by that assessment. 10 yards per carry for Wisky, yee-ouuwwwch
  12. Hernandez had a long history of being a D-bag before he ever got to the NFL. Reportedly many NFL teams didn't even have him on their draft board for exactly that reason. Apparently his family is in denial and hopefully the lawyer has to pay for a ridiculous lawsuit.
  13. Frost has been a successful coach every year as OC, DC, and HC: 1st year as HC took a 0-12 team to 6-7, the biggest win turnaround in the country (+6). Riley was -3. 2-0 so far this year. OC at Oregon (year, total Offense, scoring O, rush O, pass O) 2015 5, 5, 5, 36 2014 3, 4, 20, 10 2013 2, 4, 9, 21 One year as DC at Northern Iowa (2008) - total D 23rd, scoring D 9th. With his obvious ties/history at Nebraska, he knows the culture, history and attitude of Nebraska, and would likely stay for a long time. I would love to see him go with the Nebraska physical, tough, smashmouth attitude vs the Oregon fast attack. I think that approach also helps defenses. Today in UCF win over Maryland, Rushing 39-250 yds, Passing 30-178yds.
  14. Why not think Grand Slam!! Oh wait, they sometimes have fiery facial expressions and sideline demeanor so some people wouldn't want them.
  15. A few names from the Journal-Star. http://journalstar.com/sports/huskers/football/who-will-be-next-nu-ad-potential-candidates-with-husker/article_2239d1aa-6e6c-5cc2-85ad-57db74af430c.html
  16. Interesting that the ADs say the most important part of the job is culture building. Nebraska has had a special culture that Pederson and Eichorst did not know/fit with. I do like the idea of Alberts or Rimington because they know what Nebraska culture is and should be.
  17. Need to have "Apathetic" as an option. I'll never be excited with Riley as HC, exactly like when Callahan was here (except Riley is a better person). I believe SE tied his neck to MR with his secret, no other input, and WTF hire. I just hope they are both gone after this year instead of later so I can feel optimism for 2018. What's with people ok with 5, 6,7,8 wins? Shouldn't 9 wins be our minimum and any less a definite disappointment.
  18. Haha, is he even still alive or did the crack dealing finally get to him ~
  19. apparently not with the Cincy team I thought he had a top 10 TFL squad True that, I don't know why ND was so different. Here are the stats on Sacks/TFL 2009 Cincy 10/3 2010 ND 54/77 2011 ND 59/77 2012 ND 22/78 2013 ND 96/107
  20. Really??? Because if I'm a defense and I know the QB I'm playing against doesn't make good decisions and isn't a strong passer, I might favor the run heavily... Bottom line, Tommy could not throw like a QB should be able to, teams knew this and keyed their defensive schemes around it. And shouldn't have an offense ranked 90th no matter who we have at QB is the most idiotic thing I've read on these forums (congratulations on that). Could have put Drew Brown at QB and had a better offense than we had last year by your logic. So you think Nebraska's talent is 90th in the country? If the QB was sooooo bad, then why not use one of the other QB's? Plenty of true freshman QBs have done very well in college football lately. Do you think all of our QBs are 90th or worse in the country? Osborne won with Matt Turman for goodness sakes. Do you think any defenses ever stacked against our run, ever? Or do so now against any rush heavy teams?
