  1. Totally get where you're coming from. At the same time if Burke makes the finals and he's close to 100%, you gotta think he gives it a go, especially after Burke getting so close last year to the finals.
  2. Hard not to envision a scenario where L'Ville moves on from Petrino with Brohm floating out there. I get that replacing Jackson was going to be tough but damn...they are baaaaad. Plus...Petrino stink.
  3. HOUSE CALL FOR 666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666
  4. Someone better break the news to @teachercd... To stay on thread. Time to break out the big guns. GIVE IT UP WISCONSIN. GIVE. IT. UP. GBR. CAPS LOCK FRIDAY.
  5. It would be interesting to see an alternate universe situation if Vedral stayed at UCF. He obviously wouldn't be playing the next 2 years with Milton and it's doubtful he redshirts (although I could be wrong) so he'd have a crack at winning the job as a Senior under a coaching staff that didn't recruit him. I'm not sure what Vedral plans on long term but if it's coaching, getting a front row seat to the Scott Frost experience will probably give him a leg up. Now, for playing time the only real chance he'll have is if Martinez leaves after his junior year and Vedral will have a shot in what will be his RS Sr. year and he'll need to beat out all the QBs getting recruited behind him.
  6. Well hey now. I'm all for those BOGO coupon codes I get every once in a while!
  7. The stability they've had in the coaching ranks is helpful. They've also absolutely nailed their last few coordinator hires Aaranda/Wilcox/Leonard on the defensive side and Rudolph their current OC is a former all Big Ten lineman who absolutely understands what Wisconsin excels at. To me that's the biggest difference and a credit to Alvarez, Wisconsin just never really got away from what made them successful under Cryst and Bert and when they had a guy who wasn't a fit (Anderson) they quickly identified it and moved on.
  8. I hope you're right. I think Purdue is going to put up some points on Saturday in what should be a pretty high scoring game...if Ohio State is motivated they'll be able to put up as many as they want. Hopefully Robinson doesn't see what Purdue is doing with Moore and think, "Yup, that looks sweet."
  9. I can see the Blount comp. Not as sure on the Gore comp as Gore is a crazy underrated back (I'm guessing you mean running style?). It's crazy to think Gore is still in the league grinding away yards. He's going to be an interesting HOF test case.
  10. I both agree and disagree with some points here. On huge events like the Super Bowl you are 100% correct that the goal is to funnel as much money through the book and collect the 10% juice. Sportsbooks are now starting to take more proactive stances on games where they think they know the right side and are willing to lay a line that draws in lopsided action and are willing to play the percentages that they'll come out ahead. Books also know more often than not which side is going to be the public side and will skew the juice/line that way to make people pay a premium. You are also correct that the initial linesmakers are worth their weight in gold. I'm not sure if this is still the case as they've exited the US market but the book at Pinnacle used to be the gold standard and had the sharpest line/juice anywhere and I heard that lots of other books would simply copy Pinny's line moves. Here's a fun article that talks a bit about the line making process. https://www.sportsinsights.com/betting-tools/sportsbook-profit-margins/ As for the NU line, I agree with Severe that it probably ends up around -3. It would take a mountain of one sided money/key injury to move it past that key number.
  11. Are you familiar with the NCAA? They're not exactly known for moving at a quick pace and a lot of their decisions are well....let's call them curious.
  12. The small part of me that is vindictive says yes. The more mature part of me tells me that I'd settle for watching him get pancaked a few times plus get juked out of his cleats by AM on more than one occasion en route to a big Husker win.
  13. Hopefully he comes back healthy for next year. At the same time...
  14. Congrats to @Husker03 for being the first poster to win Huskerboard Bingo! I don't think anyone else was able to get all the new emoji thingies into one post. Let me know where you want the framed picture sent to.
  15. He had 2 hundo last year against Ohio State too. I think we all remember how that one turned out (or not, I wouldn't blame anyone who got blackout drunk).
  16. Yeah this is bizarre seeing that there are plenty of RB reps to go around. Very strange.
  17. Sorry to see Bell go. This gives me cautious optimism that Ozigbo is looking good in practice and Mo Washington must be something special and Bell sees the writing on the wall.
  18. 8-4 YTD: Arizona State +3 Utah +5 Utah State +2.5 Other bets played/considered FSU +14 Nebraska/Whisky O 57 (got it early-ish...now 58.5) Fresno State/Nevada O 60.5 (got a bad number, now down to 58).
  19. Would rather take O 54.5 versus trying to play the guessing game on the spread as with a line above 21, Nebraska should have a pretty good chance of at least getting a late TD/score to backdoor the number. Wisconsin can be had on defense and I think NU will have some success. On the other hand, I think we're going to see a pretty game effort from Wisconsin on offense. The night game factor doesn't help NU in the least as Wisconsin will have an even bigger home field advantage. Plus, Nebraska is in a bad spot in that we have a big time HC who isn't short on confidence but he's coaching a team that lacks all confidence. Where I'm going with this is I expect Wisconsin to be completely dialed and not overlook NU at all. HCSF mentioned that teams better get their shots in now before NU gets things turned around. I expect teams to do exactly that this year.
  20. Fin. Man these last 6ish weeks were tough to watch. Bats cooled off, pitching came back to earth and the As just kept on winning. As usual, Lookout Landing says it far better than I could. https://www.lookoutlanding.com/2018/9/30/17921106/mariners-say-goodbye
  21. To Lucky's credit, he did have a pretty stellar Junior season. Over 1000 yards rushing and 700+ yards receiving and he has the school record for receptions in a season. I do understand where you're coming from though with Lucky being a very hyped recruit.
  22. Good call on mentioning Mick as he not being out there was a definite blow. A really good NT in a 3-4 really, really helps things as you can force the OL to darn near double team the nose every play which hopefully puts your guys in spots where they can win 1:1 matchups. I hope he's able to come back this week against Wisconsin. NU will need him in a big way.
