  1. Wait did tommy pass on third down or are we talking about the fourth down play. I watched the game I just can't remember with the way the last few hours have gone srry.
  2. I looked at an illinois board and most of them feel confident they can win, mostly if Lunt has a career day. I'm feeling one pass td alowed per half and winning 38-17
  3. I think if the players want to wear them let them wear them. Next week we play Wisconsin, we are at home and I believe we have to wear our road jerseys as part of the new rivalry(road team loses they wear road uniforms again until they win) I don't think we'll do all whites next week, but we'll see. I think that is for Wisconsin but if it isn't let me know cause I can't quite remember which team we do this with.
  4. Under. O/U: Illinois scores 27 points. Under. Our red zone defense is usually pretty good. O/U 50% of the stadium wearing red? Under: Everyone went to Miami. O/U Hurdles by Tommy = 1 Under: Tommy runs right through Illinois players O/U Freedom get 1.5 sacks
  5. Good argument as teams play 60 minutes with no extra time so I dont get the "if they had 30 more seconds point." Welet the play clock down better this week than against BYU We had a TD at the end get called back and we centered the ball when Newby fell down but for some reason the ball was kicked at the right hash even though we centered the ball. We need to continue to work of field goal kicking.
  6. Good point I heard the announcers saying it too, but before the game I was thinking why we allow receivers to catch the ball inside.
  7. Our CBs need to force defenders to the outside and not the inside on pass plays
  8. Drew Brown 5/6. I still take it cause it had leg but not range but maybe shoulda punted or went for it on the brink of field goal or punt.
  9. Anyone think that our DBs would be playing better with Warren? I have seen three games with Brian Stewart and he was a DC just like warren was. I will give it time for these players to adapt as well. I am just curious to see what others think. If these players get the system down and execute it we will see a much better defense. This will lead to players enjoying being on an island ready to cover anyone and not shy away from them as well as being more aggressive rather than passive.
  10. Our receivers played so stinkin' well Saturday and one could argue we were missing our best one. I hope to see it all season. You've gotta believe it has something to do with KW. We've had so many stinkin' drops over the past few years it seems. I hope KW can keep bringing out the best in our WR's. I worry that KW will leave to another program, it always seems like the good ones go.This is his first big stop in college football - I'll admit I lean as a silver linings guy - but I'm hoping with the Riley staff, they'll stick together long enough to bring success. I could be wrong, but I don't know if KW wants to jump to a promotion as an OC. Any lateral change would surprise me, unless the NFL is his goal. His personality really seems to fit college athletes.I could see him going for a wr coach job at USC, UCLA, Cal...or some SEC school He got offered to go to USC and almost did actually. Kiffin offered all his assistants 315k or something like that, it was during the time Kiffen took over for Carroll. Lane only offered him 250k or 275k and he didn't like that he would be under payed so he didn't take the job and went home to Tulane
  11. Don't forget this kid can run pretty good, hes not fast but he is a tough runner and runs hard. I am exited to see him and if the college game isn't too fast for him he could push Tommy maybe, but we shall see. This kid looks like the real deal and I am excited that he is putting up video game like numbers.
  12. He is 2017 actually Both his Rivals and 247 profile say 2016. The one Mav is referring to is an in-state recruit, Unless he is talking about the athlete from Georgia who is three stars Shepherd is from Georgia, Class of 2016, rated three-star by Rivals, not rated by 247. Ah okay didn't see him till later, my bad on that one because I thought you were talking about someone else.

  14. Did you even watch the BYU game? He had one of his better passing days, ever. Threw for the second-most yards amongst Big Ten quarterbacks this week. Tommy may not be a prototypical passer, but he's improved by leaps & bounds over last year. We need to run the ball. Callahan v.2 will get us nowhere. Don't say that out loud. You'll people in here to "vent" on you. We'll never be where we want to be until we run the ball effectively. Run the gosh darn ball I will say in the second we needed to run the ball more but MR knows what he is doing BYU was in run stuff defense where they dared us to pass. The pass worked in the first but in the second it wan't going our way. Also They dared us to pass mostly in the second quarter not the whole game if I remember correctly. I don't think they overloaded either I think they had Lbs playing run first pass second and our o-line couldn't block well. Alex Lewis and the whole line stood around while tommy sacrifices his body to block for Westerkamp on that Td just remember that.
  15. I thought our pass rush was sub par for sure. Hill had plenty of time to throw the football to his receivers that were really tall and good with minimal pressure. I thought on third down situations we needed to put freedom in the game cause he was definitely one of our best pass rushers and best rush end in my opinion. It is one game in a new defense and we were without a good CB in Rose and LB in Rose ivey. I thought corners played okay but im not totally blaming them because you can't ask corners to cover for 8 or more seconds on the field. That fourth and one BYU had where that qb escaped to keep the play alive, he broke like two tackles and had like 8 seconds to throw and Davie was still on the receiver but didn't make a play on the ball but got the tackle.
  16. Did you even watch the BYU game? He had one of his better passing days, ever. Threw for the second-most yards amongst Big Ten quarterbacks this week. Tommy may not be a prototypical passer, but he's improved by leaps & bounds over last year. I think that is being awfully generous. At home against BYU, one of the worst secondaries in CFB last year, he was only 58% and 7.8 YPA. Last year, he averaged 53% and 7.8 YPA. Even in his previous game against USC, he had equal TD/INT and more yards. In 2014, he had 5 games with a better QBR and completion percentage than versus BYU. He had a quarter or two where he looked really good, but also had a quarter or two that made me shudder. I saw improvement in Tommy on Saturday, I saw obvious run situations where he hesitated and why he hesitated I don't know. You can't compare last year to this year because it is a whole different year. I thought BYU had an average secondary but not an awful one like last years. Against USC three pass td one INT I have the stats right in front of me. He had a bad second quarter but a great first third and fourth. Also during that second quarter I saw number 90 on BYU unblocked on three straight pass downs so yeah all Tommies fault of course. One of the intentional groundings was dumb but I thought the second one he was trying to make a play when an o-line couldn't block for him so he was trying to make a winners play,
  17. I think this hasn't been brought up much but it was only one play. We were running a half back screen to Newby/Wilbon and I saw a lot of green turf in front of them. The only problem was the two lineman were in the way and interfered with him catching the pass. Both teams I thought had big breaks Jamal dropped a wide open pass and we also dropped another screen pass. Also BYU missed a third or fourth and three where they had a played wide open and he dropped it. All in all good football was played yesterday, it was the first game of the season and I was impressed with how well we handled adversity. Little things need to be fixed like o-line blocking, the field foal team, the punt team if Sam is out for a few games as well as penalties and running the ball. Also give Imani the ball to get north on third or fourth and one and get a first down which could have ended the game.
  18. We lost a game to chance. What if the receiver had dropped it or what if he ran just outside the goaline? Anyway the BYU receiver made a play and you can't define MR on one game. I still think this is a 9 or 10 win team. Why not define MR by his body of work? Seems logical. It seemed like a 9 or 10 win team until we dropped a sure win today, and then the other NU beat Stanford. We will be lucky to win 7 now, unless this coaching staff figures out how to play defense. Well who thought Ohio State was gonna make the playoff after losing by a lot at home to an eventual 6-6 Virginia Tech team. Stuff happens but it is not time to panic at all

  20. Taysom hill is out for the year and idk about the husker players
  21. Yep need to run the ball better, I thought the pass was working really well but i still thought running a little more in the second woulda helped, Drew Brown is our best kicker so he wont get benched just yet. If he misses a 24 yard field goal in a no pressure situation than I would start looking at other kickers to find.
