  1. Because players want to go somewhere they can start immediately. With the talent we are losing and possibly AM leaving there will be lots of opportunity. Worked out OK for Toure. And I agree with the others. There are plenty of threads here where you can vent to heart's content. No need to come into this thread and drop a big steaming load.
  2. Will you accept a moral victory in lieu of an actual victory on the scoreboard?
  3. I feel like Cypher in The Matrix every week after the Huskers lose another game. Why oh why didn't I take the blue pill.
  4. It looked to me like a make-up no call for the horrible PI they called 5 plays earlier when AM threw the ball away way over Allen's head, out of bounds and was clearly uncatchable.
  5. I learned Braelon Allen is the real deal. Good enough at 17 to think he may not be at Wis. for 3 more years. A good thing for DONU since I don't want to face him 3 more times.
  6. When AM had a broken jaw and was hobbling around with an ankle sprain HCSF still went with him over Smothers or any of the other backups. That's got to tell you something. A lot of people were screaming for McCaffrey last year. After seeming him on the field the overwhelming majority were happy to have AM back the next week. Careful what you wish for.
  7. According to people with inside knowledge (SSO) there were a couple donors ready to write the checks for the buyout. Trev will be right no matter what, and should location play a part in what scheme you run?
  8. Another great article by Jeremy Pernell. Pernell: A Shortlist for Frost in His OC Search
  9. I wonder how much of this whole process was influenced by buy-out money? If things continue to go south (which I believe is the by far the most likely outcome) then it will save NU/Donors millions of dollars in a year or two when they finally axe Frost. If things do turn around then all is well and Trev looks like a genius.
  10. Bottom Line. You can look at and manipulate all the stats you want but it doesn't change the fact that our record is pathetic.
  11. #102 in Red Zone + Poor Special Teams & Place Kicking + Undisciplined Penalties at Inopportune Moments + Puzzling Play Calling + Erratic QB Play = 3-7 It all falls upon the shoulders of HCSF & his staff / former staff.
  12. Well, since in the last 4 years we've only beaten teams with winning records twice and have never beaten a ranked team it would certainly rank as his best win by a mile which in itself is a very sad fact
  13. I'd think we would want to be pretty careful about giving the boot to large number of players at the moment considering our recruiting class is currently ranked the lowest in the modern era of Husker football. And next year probably won't be much better considering going in NU will have had 5 straight loosing seasons, will be coming off a 3-5 win season, has a whole new offensive staff in place that may or may not be around for long and a HC that will still be very much on the hot seat. Considering most of the recruiting class is in place before the season starts that doesn't bode well for us and will leave us with 2 consecutive weak classes.
  14. David owns this site too but I posted a link to the SSO article here, no one has said anything about it and I haven't been banned (yet).
  15. An excellent and brutally honest article from Jeremy Pernell - AKA "N2FL" who is a frequent and very knowledgeable contributor over at the over site. Frost Needs a Miracle
  16. I agree with his statement for the most part. The biggest problems this year have been the place kickers and punters poor execution. You miss field goals or punt the ball to the opposite side of the field that you are suppose to isn't something I see as a coaching problem. It is a personnel problem.
  17. I agree. Frost needs to get things on track next year or it could possibly be his last so I can't imagine wholesale changes. With that in mind I see tweaks to what is already in place. Changing the O to an entirely new system would require more time than I believe HCSF has available. You can keep the terminology but still make a lot of meaningful changes. Just IMHO.
  18. There is plenty of hate in the state of Nebraska to go around. So if you get a good hate fest going for Forde there will still be plenty leftover for Frost, Frost haters, the media, Trev or ________*. * You can fill in the blank with whoever you choose to hate today!
  19. Beyond that, think of the field day ALL the opposing recruiters would have with it. So you're thinking about committing to NU son, let me show you some of the emails your new coach sent and what he really thinks about you.
  20. One thing I think is becoming very clear. We made a grand slam - out of the park hire with Trev. While I was in the get rid of him camp, what they came up with is a very workable solution that I didn't think would ever happen but will stand behind 100%. Trev's candor and forthcoming statements are so refreshing to see. I feel confident, whether this works out or not, we are in good hands with Trev as AD - Finally.
  21. Depends on who returns but with the much less demanding schedule I'm hoping for 5-7 next. Should be enough to ensure HCSF returns for year six.
