  1. We will have a pretty good chance against Bethune-Cookman although I feel even that is not an automatic by any means considering the type of play this team has shown this year. If they overlook them, continue with the costly penalties and dumb mistakes that could be a very embarrassing loss. Beyond that I'm not confident we can beat any of the remaining teams on the schedule. OSU, no chance. Northwestern, MSU & Iowa, slim to no chance. Illinois and Minn, a chance if they can play a near perfect game. 0-12, not likely but possible, 1-11 is very possible, 2-10 is the most likely IMHO and 3-9 if they get things fall into place and they get lucky. Anything better than that is a pipe dream.
  2. Losing 9 straight games and 11 of the last 12 will do that. Surprised we aren't even lower and would have a hard time arguing with it if we were.
  3. Next year at the earliest. Expect around 10 or more penalties and 100 yrds or more the rest of this season. But don't expect squeaky clean games from a Frost coached team. His UCF teams averaged pretty high penalties in his 2 years there. And I'm pretty sure Frost and his staff are aware of the penalty situation with the implications they have on the outcome of the game. I also believe they trying to make improvements to the best of their abilities. And with are severe lack of depth in position groups like OL just benching a player(s) and throwing in the next body in line isn't going to have very positive results I'm afraid.
  4. Nebraska - 24 NW - 42 Rushing - 143 Passing - 241
  5. They mentioned on Sip & Jake or Sharp & Benning fairly recently that Sean Beckton was continually having to fend off the line coaches trying to get him for OL duty. I guess the line coaches won out. I think it is a good move as long as he is on board with it. Lord knows we need help there and next year is going to be worse due to graduation.
  6. Good stop but if the D is out on the field for half a quarter at a time they will be exhausted by the second half.
  7. Great point that gets lost. From what I've read and understand, no way will they be able to hit 85 with the existing and anticipated attrition. This is going to be a killer down the road as it is a sort of self inflicted probation where you don't fill all scholarships available. But some of the previous regimes did this on a regular basis so it is kind of the norm at DONU.
  8. I really don't expect much improvement in either penalties or turnover margin until next year at the earliest although I hope I'm wrong. Expecting this game to get out of hand at some point and after it does we will be taken to the woodshed one more time. Could be along the lines of the Michigan game IMHO. But Wis. likes to play a very ball control offense so maybe they will eat up the clock and we can keep it under 50 points (unless the D gives up a bunch of big plays).
  9. Listening to Sip & Jake yesterday and there was some of speculation about him not being back next year. Looks like it happened a little sooner than that.
  10. Yeah. It's not like this team is exactly overflowing with All American or All B1G talent. Especially the ones who have been benched. Probably just as likely anyone who would decide to leave would end up at a FCS school or a P5 school at best.
  11. I would hope we could beat B-C even if we have the usual double digit penalties for over 100 yrds and a turnover or three. Beyond that, I think all the other games are potential losses.
  12. NU - 17 Wis - 49 Rushing - 76 Passing - 156
  13. The fans have become accustomed to losing so another one won't be much of surprise and won't be a meltdown IMHO. They have been a better team than NU recently with as good of talent as we have so a loss won't shock anybody. Now, if Bethune-Cookman takes us to the woodshed there will definitely be a meltdown. Don't think that will happen but after watching the last two games I'm not ruling out anything.
  14. Purdue - 38 Nebraska - 13 Rushing - 111 Passing - 153
  15. He is co-second team with Washington. Bell -OR- Ozigbo then Washington -OR- Jones. Don't know why he hasn't played but you don't care anyway. Depth chart for Purdue game from the presser today.
  16. I wouldn't get my hopes up too much. I haven't seen anything from this team that tells me they are capable of beating even mediocre opposition. I wonder, as a fanbase, when we will stop expecting wins just because we show up and play? We've lost 7 straight and are 1-9 over the last 10 games. I never thought in my worst nightmares that I would see us sink this low as a program.
  17. Great, hard fought game that you would expect from two top B1G teams. Enjoyable to watch. Both teams will humiliate us unless something drastically changes before we play them.
  18. If things keep up like they have been going so far it could get very ugly against any team on our schedule with the exception of B-C (maybe). And I don't feel a win against B-C is in any way a sure thing at this point even though they are a FCS school. They have won their conf. several of the last few years.
