@ColoradoHusk I know some people like that, too. My cousin won't wear a seat belt because a high school friend of his survived a pretty terrible crash without much of a scratch, and "the doctors" told him he would've been killed if he had been in his seat belt because of the way the car ended up compacting on itself.

I don't always make decisions, but when I do, I make sure obscure outlier data points are the basis for my conclusions. 

I'm glad you guys are alright. 

I never wore a seatbelt growing up (it was the 80s, we didn't have physics then) and my first car didn't have seatbelts so it was really difficult for me to get in the habit for a long time.

This might sound kind of dumb but it was actually Sam Foltz's accident that got me to remember to do it enough to become a habit.

Thanks everyone. Vehicle is totalled. We rolled a couple times off the interstate. Wife got the worst of it: fracture above her elbow, broken rib in her back, 30 staples in her head, and lots of bruising. I'm sore, with just a few bumps and scrapes. The dog got ejected without a scratch.
