  1. Yesterday was a good win, but I think you are all delusional in thinking we will beat tOSU. Possible? Sure. But we are still not a dominant football team and as soon as we lose, most of you will realize this. Takes years to build a program into a top football program. This is a good first step.
  2. My guess is well end up somewhere between 23, 24, and 25.
  3. My football coach in highschool always said never put yourself in a position where the refs can decide the outcome of the game.
  4. Football is a game of multiple moments. If this would have happened here or that would have happened there. Has always been the case. People pick pivotal moments all the time and dwell on the outcomes. The thing is, it ends up becoming a chase match. We pick all the boneheads we make and say the game would have been different, and then they pick all the bonehead plays they make.
  5. It seemed that we had a lot of calls go our way. It's been a while since I witnessed that. So yea, i feel the refs spoiled us, but that's just cuz I'm so used to us getting bent over and taking it dry from the Zebras.
  6. Yet most fans act like NU has a crazy gauntlet of tough games within the conference and division. We have a pretty touch schedule. All the games are winnable, and as of now Ohio State appears to be the only insane challenge, but we could easily drop games versus Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa..or really any game for that matter.
  7. You're an emotional wreck, bro. Previously in the game thread: This is f'ing football. You're a fan. Enjoy the f'ing game and chill the f#*k out.
  8. So #33 Nebraska is favored by 3 points over #22 Oregon? Seems like something is wrong with this—either the ratings or the Vegas line. : Vegas doesn't care about rankings and are usually more accurate than the rankings. Also have to remember @ Nebraska gives us 3 points for being at home.....so they feel at the moment it is a toss up game Do some research on home-field underdogs. Back in 1980-2001, HFUD covered the spread nearly 54% of the time. Since then, it appears an over-correction was made, and from 2004-2012, HFUDs covered only 47% of the time.
  9. Last weeks attendance was just short of 90,000. The prior week was just over 90,000. Fun fact: Husker attendance exceeded 90K for the first time in 2013. The average attendance last year was just under 90K, with the largest attendance being Iowa game of 90,830. The stadium was far from empty and the attendance was extremely typical. I think you might be losing it in your old age.
  10. The thing that makes the Nate Gerry call so stupid is the fact that the player in question was named defenseless, yet he has time to receive the ball, take 2 steps upfield, and brace himself for impact. That's not targeting a defenseless player. https://vine.co/v/iAEgvEjtdVM You want to talk about refs making a split second decision but ignore the fact that gerry had less than a split second to react to the receiver. Maybe he should have considered not turning up field...
  11. We should be dominating Iowa and Michigan State. We might not be "behind" them, but we aren't in front of them either. We're in the middle of the pack of a weak division. Can't even imagine how bad it'd be if we had to play Michigan and OSU every year. If you are still living in the 90's then yeah we should be dominating the Big 10 as a whole. But the fact of the matter is Mich St. Has passed us by as a program in the here and now. Iowa has caught up. My opinions are just being formed on the current state of the team and realistic prospects going forward. The days of dominance have been over for a very long time. We are not in the top echelon of college football anymore I agree. But I think all of us have higher expectations, and that's why people are so pissed off.

  13. I couldn't agree more with everything said in this post.
  14. We would have likely been sh#t on Alabama and Stanford. My girlfriend is a huge Iowa fan and she was complaining about how Iowa should have been in the CFBPO instead of Sparty because they would have put up better numbers against Bama. She is dillusional, and so are all of you who think we can even compare to the calaber of football being played at that level. Maybe I'm being negative, but we aren't playing dominating football.
  15. Because we suck this year? Let it go. Always next year pal. You're going to have a tough life being a husker fan if you expect us to be great every year. Maybe we'll get back to being great, but not this year. Not next year.
  16. Probably the worst play call/decision I've seen in 50+ years of FB watching. Still can't believe it. Tommy chose to make that pass. He had options and he chose the worst one. There was a guy wide open to his left in the flats beyond he sticks. Gee golly, perhaps you'd be a dumber coach than the guy you're criticizing...moron. Yeah, wasn't much in the way of choice, since he thru it up for grabs as fast as the ball touched his hands. Too bad for Carter. I'd call a running play, quite frankly, you know, since we had ~1/2 yd to get the 1st. But hey, give TA another chance to throw a pick or make a bonehead read.... You seem to forget that it was 3rd and one before it was 4th and one. They could have stuffed us twice . Them what?

  18. Taylor's worst was 13. Honestly, TA seems stubborn. His demeanor during press conferences is that of a person who doesn't really want to take responsibility. He's a good athlete. He has a lot of atheletic potential, but he constantly makes bad decisions. If you think you're smart enough to see it, but our coaches are not, than perhaps it is you that is the fool. There is another thread popping around here about a rumor of TA stomping off the field during practice because he was called out for his bonehead plays. Who knows if there is any truth to it, but based on what I've seen, I'd be inclined to beleive it. Either way, you can blame the coaches all you want, and they do deserve some of the blame, but at some point, you just need to work with what you got, and hold out for next year...
  19. This thread should be locked. It's the same ol sh#t, different day. Nothing going to sway either group's minds. It's just mindless arguing at this point... But here is my reasoning: Bo is gone. He isn't coming back. You can disagree with the hire all you want, but you have zero control over those decisions. I'm a husker fan and a husker supporter. I am skeptical of the Mike Riley hire, but any person in this position deserves time. No one was going to come into this program and during year zero, turn it it into a top 5 football team. If 4 years from now, Mike Riley is still producing 6 loss seasons, he will be gone. And we can argue about why the next coach was a foolish hire.
  20. An All-American QB will fix the defense too? Damn! Defense played pretty stout the last 2 games. Always room for improvement, and I think there is loads of room to improve, but they've been playing pretty good. Iowa is proof that any decent team can go 12-0 with a patty-cake schedule. They won the games that they needed to. They won the games they were supposed to. That doesn't always happen, but what happened, should have happened.
  21. We don't have an asshat of a HC whose only response to anything is to throw a tantrum. I'm not saying Mike Riley is the best guy for the job, but he's a better guy for the job.
  22. If you youtube search for targeting ejection, you'll see about 90% of the time, the call seems unwarranted. This rule needs to be reviewed and modified. There is a difference between hitting a defenseless player and making a football play. If gerry doesn't hit this WR, then no doubt he catches the ball. With that said, we are all biased. We'd probably be supporting the call if the roles were reversed.
