    Thinking about getting a Bose Soundtouch 300 w/ the Bose Acustimass 300? Or should I update my receiver and get a all new subwoofer, floor speakers and bookshelf speakers? Thoughts?

      You will get more quality for your dollar by upgrading your receiver and speakers than boing with Bose.  I don't think Bose is as bad as most people do, but I do think you can get much better speakers for the price of a Bose system.

      I would update, but if you go the other route look at ZVOX and of course Sonos, which are both better than Bose in my opinion.

      Check our r/audiophile for some advice.  IMO you can get much better value/sound with a nice set of bookshelf speakers and a sub. Look into Audio Engine, DefinativeTechnolgies, and Emotiva.  Bower & Wilkens has a huge range.  The nice thing with companies like B&W you can slowly build your system from 2.1 to 7.4.2 and beyond.
