  1. He was somewhat in the mix before Callahan was hired. Not very likely to happen, but not a crazy thought.
  2. Its good work by the administration. Would've liked to have seen an escalator clause to keep the $ relevant as other programs sign/re-sign these type of deals.
  3. Im with you on this. In general, I've felt that offense minded coach has a better feel for the overall team "identity" and game management (despite Frost). I feel so much more can go wrong with the offense, where as if there is a solid D strategy it can somewhat auto-pilot, in comparison to offenses.
  4. If Nebraska is in any bowl game, I'm watching. Else, I don't necessarily care about other lower tier bowl games.
  5. Many on this board and most that I've talked with in person want nothing to do with Meyer. I don't think there's a Scott Frost out there that's going to unite/satisfy 99% of the fan base. Prepare to be disappointed since odds are "your guy" isn't going to be the replacement.
  6. It fascinates me the thought that an AD gets a one and only chance to hire the correct/perfect head football coach.
  7. I will say that our offense definitely misses the QB run game. Maybe not necessarily Martinez, but certainly the threat.
  8. I miss an aggressive type of defense like I saw from OU.
  9. We ask for a chance that's fair
  10. Agee about too many posts. However I voted. Mark Stoops for me today. Excited though to see what Mickey brings.
  11. I get your thought, yet I was actually happy they scored quickly. I had no hope that the D would make a stop. Was happy they scored fast enough to give our O an extra chance.
  12. While maybe not as smooth of speaker as some (maybe some nerves), I thought he expertly answered the questions. Super job side-stepping a couple of baiting questions. Fired up for him!
  13. ^^^ I Love it! I especially appreciate the statement about tackling.
  14. TL;DR Of course things can get worse, but the program is much further from greatness than it is to zero wins. So chances are better that this move works out for the better; whatever you define "better" to be.
  15. No reason to continue the DC charade. Hope he pulls the trigger.
  16. No. I know what I saw. And how Bo performed in his subsequent jobs only confirmed it. He had hit his ceiling.
  17. In the end? No. The die was cast with him. Could get the team to 9 wins, but never more than 10; will consistently lose 4 games. And those losses would either be against teams that shouldve been wins or blowouts to the really good teams. Like many others, could/would not adjust his defensive scheme to the opponent.
  18. Id be fine with a few years of 9 or 10 wins per season with 3 or 4 blowout losses. Then I'd want to see additional progress.
  19. I'd have no problem with Chadwell IF he is able to bring in a solid D, and not get hung up on the nepotism our previous coaches have failed to suppress. Rhule is probably my top choice of those names.
  20. A lot of names out there that would appear to be quality candidates. What I'm hoping NU does not get is someone where NIL and Portal are recent changes to the back-end of the candidates coaching career. I guess that means I'd prefer someone under the age of 50. (No, I don't mean Scott Frost.)
  21. Who is "we"? The recruiting rankings present that DONU consistently recruits the best collection of talent in the West division. I don't read or hear anyone claiming we have playoff talent.
  22. Lets be fair. As a whole, even with its warts (O-line), this is still an offense that scores enough points to win the vast majority of its games even with just a competent defense to support it. Was B1G #2 in total offense last season.
