  1. I’m curious about how it’ll look too. There are so many teams today that are running a hurry-up, funny picture play card, Oregon style offense. I haven’t watched Frost’s offense close enough to see if it’s that much more cutting edge. From what I have seen, I do like an offense that keeps the defense guessing and utilizes chess-like strategy and deception. Can’t wait!
  2. He did , until that SF Mega Thread got locked up .
  3. I can google stats, but is Vedral that good ? I don’t recall any news about him in regards to being a FBS-level in state talent that left the state. Who was recruiting him ?
  4. The writer’s assessment of Nebraska was on target. I think his grades for some of other teams were off. He gave each a grade based on the criteria and context of the program. Gives Northwestern at 9-3 a B+. That’s an A for Northwestern in my mind; that’s about to the ceiling for that team.
  5. The money that has been absolutely wasted by this institution is seriously infuriating. I get that the football program, and the entire athletic dept, is solvent, but seriously what the heck?! The cornbucks that are raining down on former head coaches, assistants, idiots like Devaney, and Eichorst is nauseating. And to think, Perlman is sitting down somewhere in his stuffy, firm chair in his reading room wearing his little glasses at the tip of his nose with his beady eyes glancing at his fireplace just thinking about how great he is. What world do we live in where you can totally and completely f- up at your job and then you hit a financial windfall just to go away. I’m pushing my sons to become D1 coaches.. forget medical school. Sorry about the rant, this Devaney bs just freakin irritates me.
  6. Great. Now he’s going to burn down the stadium.
  7. Most of the responses are realistic and my expectation is to beat the lower to middle tier teams and compete with the top teams. No blowouts, no embarrassment and play with pride. I also expect to see a team with a clear identity. Fast play, conditioned athletes and smart coaching .
  8. And that is hilarious ! Because after I read that original post , I imagined the “wah- wah-wah” Debbie downer music .
  9. If there is a Coaches Carousel Trophy, then Mike Riley should win the Boomerang Award.
  10. Yeah— go over to any Iowa forum and there’s always some thread with negative stuff about “Nebbie”. But here, we seldom talk about Iowa outside of game week. They have threads about us throughout the year.
  11. Yes, and Frank Solich was the head coach of the freshman team .
  12. Agree with that on Mackivicka’s toughness. I read that he was never once tackled for a loss. Closest to him ever in my opinion (as a runner ) was Rex Burkhead.
  13. I can see it now.. Oregon State will be struggling defensively and new coach Jonathan Smith will be scratching his head and saying, “Gee, Mike, I sure don’t know what we can do about this defense. We’re teaching them, but look at them, it’s like they’re just straining out there. Do you see the strain? What do we do ?” and Mike says, “well I know a guy...”
  14. That and also the need for a job. No guarantees that Heupel would keep him on staff.
  15. Wow.. what a listen. We knew there was some b.s. happening in Lincoln, and this was painful to hear. It’s so obvious that our guys aren’t getting coached up. I lived in Blue Springs, MO (home of the Davis twins) the year we were recruiting them. Watching them play in high school — they were as dominant as Suh. I was excited and have been watching them closely here. It’s staggering to see how little they’ve developed.
  16. Good job Coach Frost ! Testament to his good staff too. On a humorous note , he’s part of an elite fraternity now :
  17. ... and every reader of this post: google... Anna Kendrick ... images, yeah ok..
  18. The SEC seems to schedule a conference game earlier, and then a late season out of conference game against a highly overmatched opponent. This trend has been happening for years. My opinion is that it’s almost a ploy to alter the rankings. Let’s say a top 10 SEC team loses early in the season and falls to 18th-25th. They have weeks to recover and a late season guarantee win over a team like Mercer, and by that time, there’s been enough losses throughout he top 25 , that the SEC team works it’s way back into the top 10.
