  1. Frankly, just looking at the list of names in the LB corps, my most common reaction is "Who?" Most of them ain't exactly having their names called much. Barry I think we're all pretty happy with right now (as happy as we are with any of the defense, anyway), but that's about it. Gifford has his strengths, but he ain't the kind of pass rusher you want from a 3-4 OLB. Really none of them are, but then, Tannor is the only guy on that whole LB depth chart that was recruited for a 3-4.
  2. We already have them on the schedule, just not for this year. Does appear that Mike Stoops is indeed out, though. https://www.sbnation.com/college-football/2018/10/7/17945506/mike-stoops-oklahoma-fired
  3. Uhhhhhh.... read the article linked carefully (including the date).
  4. Also: 3. If we weren't playing the third-hardest schedule in the country. http://sagarin.com/sports/cfsend.htm (Interestingly, #1 hardest is the team being coached by Frost's old boss Chip Kelly, which is off to a similarly rough start.)
  5. He already had more rushing attempts tonight than everyone else combined, and about half of the total rushing yardage. Washington and Ozigbo both had significantly more YPA, but Martinez had the longest run.
  6. Do you think we have the llamas to mackerel?
  7. I hate to say it, but this feels like a desperation move, trying anything they can to make the O-line suck less.
  8. He passed away this morning following complications relating to Sudden Loss Of Wanted Speed (SLOWS).
  9. Moos is the guy who ultimately decides this stuff, and he seems to be on board with the 'be patient and let things build' school of thought. IIRC it was his idea to give Frost a 7-year contract, not something Frost requested.
  10. I'd call that a poor record, although in this case some of it may have simply been a need to fill out the roster with whoever they could get.
  11. A juco guy is expected to be the starter right away. If he's not starter-grade, then you're better off just taking a guy coming out of high school to build long-term. Given that and the fact that he bailed so quickly when faced with a little adversity, yeah, we were better off without him.
  12. TIL that Wisconsin is a city.
  13. Hey, there's still time for Dismuke to turn into the 4* guy he was rated as! Or at least make the depth chart!
  14. @Guy Chamberlin Ah yes, nothing like a bit of grandpa rock to get the team going. Or I guess they're in their 70s now, so it's probably more great grandpa rock at this point? @Caveman Had a feeling someone would link that, lol. It's fun, but I feel like it could be taken even further.
  15. Weezer's version of Africa is a pretty straightforward cover of the original, it brings nothing new to the song. Unimaginative. I wanna like a crazy symphonic metal version of it or something.
  16. We're lucky that they didn't have someone back there to catch it and go 'kick-six' on us.
  17. Caputo is probably most notable for being the guy who stepped on T-Mart's ankle during the A&M game.
  18. Was post-game 4 attrition a thing elsewhere? (Remember that a lot of teams reached that mark the week before we did.) I never expected the rule change to impact transfer announcements. Does the '4 games played' redshirt rule even apply in transfer cases?
  19. Funny thing that people forget: Riley basically did that every year against Wisconsin. Lost by 2 points one year, took them into overtime the next year, and had them tied in the 4th quarter the year after that. Wisconsin is not a game we can't win. Never has been since we joined the conference - even last year, somehow. For as bad as our modern history in this series looks, they've never really out-talented us. Out-coached at times, certainly, but not out-talented. But a lot of times, it wasn't really even that - they just plain beat us in a good game. A couple bad losses and a bad overall record make them look a lot scarier in some people's minds than they really are. Question is, how does Wisconsin look in the minds of the players?
  20. Africa is probably one of the most misquoted songs out there, but I don't think I've heard that particular misquote before...
  21. TBH, those first few stats are redundant - do poorly in penalties and turnovers and you're going to have run more plays and get more yards to get your points. We've out-yarded 3/4 of our opponents this year, but obviously we didn't out-points them...

    New Board

I posted this in another thread, but I think it's worth copying here: That's why I keep saying that forums like this are better off with just a +1 button and no others. It's also simpler, I mean, we've got separate buttons for +1, upvote, thank you, and haha. But if you think about it, a single +1 or like button is enough to cover all four of those - it just says 'I liked that'. Keep it simple, stupid. Meanwhile, what good does having negative reactions like an eyeroll do, really? To me, it's little more than a passive-aggressive source of tension and drama - it's not like we need more of that. Plus it also leads to 'what did I do to deserve that?' moments like the case you mentioned.
