  1. No. I'm convinced that great QB play enhances talent around you but in the case of a Wisconsin, scheme and identity can manage the QB
  2. The smart money is on Iowa, who is still butthurt over Eichorst's explanation of Pelini's firing. "In the final analysis, I had to evaluate where Iowa was." I agree it had to be Iowa. Though I wouldn't be surprised if it were Urban. He seems to be a pretty blunt guy. Also Iowa is 2-0 against Nebraska since Eichorst called them out
  3. Baby showed up 7/14/17 at 9:16 am. First one for me. What an experience and life changer! Heart full of love for our baby boy!

  5. So would I be right to say/think that the penalty that is in place if you opt out is actually a safeguard for the people paying premiums to keep their premiums where they are? Meaning, if the penalty didn't exist that would make premiums even higher, correct? Where does that penalty money go to?
  6. Well for NU you almost have to pick any of the basic run plays from CU 2001. That's the game everyone points to that changed everything. Might be the fumble Dedrick had at the goalline when NU was putting pressure on CU
  7. This helps a ton guys! Thank you so much for the response! I know I've been a douche in the P&R forum more often than not and I just can't believe I was ok with going that route.
  8. Knapp, Zoogs, ZRod, NUance, BRB or whoever... Will one of you guys please give me an unbiased outline of the pros and cons of what Obamacare does. You can keep it short, but I'd like some of the lesser known stuff put in it. Why would one disapprove of it from an educated standpoint and why would someone approve of it from an educational standpoint. Taking party affiliation out of it. I'll admit. I know far less than what I need to know and I'm also to lazy to research it for myself and would rather find out through genuine non agenda driven discussion. This is not a troll attempt to start dissension Thanks.
  9. 2007? Lol 2007, aka the year he became an Oregon fan Not quite. 2001 (7th Grade)

I agree. I was simply commenting on the dynamic of having only 2 of the 3. Everyone knows athletic ability has to be one of them, so...

Hmmm... 2nd DUI, failed drug test, cited for open container, broke another students arm. Not too bad for a few years

  14. Yes! This is exactly why I get upset about the theory that just because NU has 5 championships they should expect XYZ... It's about trends in college football. In which case I think NU is trending up even though it may not be super fast like you see some places. I also think people need to be careful about the trends of a program and how it's different from just landing a gem/transcendent player. Gems can distort reality on many fronts
  15. It's not that sad, Rimington was at Nebraska nearly 40 years ago. That would be like you (when you were in high school) asking someone what Rich Glover was like. Shoot, I am 10-15 years older than you and only know Rich Glover from stories and videos from the Game of the Century. Ya but there is an award named after Rimington too
  16. They aren't. At my previous school it was much more common to hear kids talk about watching a movie together on Saturday than watching football. At the school I'm currently at it's a bit more leaning toward football Saturday's but still, no where near what I watch on Saturday. If I'm not done breaking down film by 11am. It gets put off till Sunday morning. I'm not sure if it's sad or not. I just had a kid ask me who Dave Rimington was yesterday.
  17. Thinking that the '18 class will compete for a Big10 title is just silly. They haven't even stepped foot on campus as a student, they haven't even played a down of their senior year of HS FOOTBALL YET! Think about what you are saying. Clemson. They had CONSECUTIVE top classes (15th, 16th, 9th, 11th), they also scored a transcendent QB that elevated the players around him. Clemson's HC and staff is all very high energy and promotes crazy positivity around the program. Their staff is a whole different dynamic from NU's. That may change with Diaco but Riley isn't a Ra-Ra guy like Swinney. NU is 35th, 30th, 26th, and 23rd (2014-2017). 247 composite So maybe NU puts together a nice class but they have to have strong classes behind it to make the difference. So you're looking at 4 years at a MINIMUM that NU competes for a Big10 title. Mike Riley will be 67/68 years old at that time. Wisconsins and Michigan State have won recent B1G titles while recruiting at that level. Hell, Iowa in 2015, and Wisconsin last year were a play away with recruiting levels much lower than what NU averages. Ya. You're right. I didn't think about that. However all of those teams have had an identity (physical style of play) and very good defense. Nebraska needs to build that nasty OL mentality if they are going to recruit that low. No champ has done it without that mentality and that's the thing NU misses year after year. Line up and kick someone's ass. Not saying it's not being built but it's one of those things that you hope for every year and it hasn't surfaced quite yet.

  19. I didn't pay attention enough then to care what was going on. I was barely out of HS, but wasn't the financial issue due to a bunch of dumbass banks giving home loans to anyone and everyone?
  20. Not trying to dis Northwestern but the results of the games are significantly more about us playing poorly than them playing well. They could say the same thing. It's a matter of perception. That's the way Oregon views itself vs NU last year. How many of you would be willing to attest to that?
  21. Some taking them for granted but mostly sloppy play imo. Taking them for granted? How about Pat Fitzgerald just knows how to put a competitive group on the field? Christ almighty, taking them for granted would be something a great team does. Literally nothing Nebraska has accomplished warrants that mindset. It's time for the fans to stop using that as an excuse. If you have a loss to Purdue in the last 10 years. You can't take anyone for granted. Or else you're an idiot.
  22. Face value isn't really face value. I've said this a bunch but for me. I don't want to watch a flipping football game for 400 dollars (Me and the wife) and pay for pop, water, popcorn, runza or whatever else. Plus gas if traveling from out state Nebraska. It's either that or watch multiple games during the day from the comfort of your own home. Where you can sit and chat about the game with friends/family and spend literally 0 dollars (if you are an a-hole host) to watch from a much better vantage point. If I can buy a ticket for 50 dollars. Then I'll go.
