  1. There are people that went to his wedding (or were in it, can't really remember) that still live around Wood River. Former classmates. One of the kids I coached there showed me all of the pictures. Looked like a good time. Actually was fortunate enough to have a conversation with Frost at the CU game in 2013 while he was at Oregon. Talked about how I was at Wood River at the time and he said that he saw we had gotten beat the night before. I thought it was cool that he took the time to continue to follow how Wood River does. It was a pleasure to talk to him.
  2. I wish FLorida would just make an announcement so I would feel better in all of this.
  3. Some Buckeye fan on Twitter says he's got a "pretty good" source saying that Frost to UF has been done for 2 weeks.

      Well that sounds reliable.

I can't possibly imagine a higher qualification than "some Buckeye fan on Twitter". Must be legit.

  4. CU 2001 - worst loss I've ever seen and the biggest disappointment. VT 2009 UT 2009 I rank all 3 of these as the same. I was more disappointed about the 2003 win vs Penn State than I was about a whole lot of recent NU losses, but complete apathy set in for me after Pelini's tirade at TAMU, and his actions on the sideline every time after that made me completely despise him and his teams. The hiring of Mike Riley made it even worse for me. Frost is my cure.

It's windy as heck. One punt went for just 7 yards. LOL

Not sure why the punter thought it was a good idea to kick the ball that high. Low line drive kick is what he needs to do.

This is an entertaining game. Sadly, I’ve really enjoyed every single cfb game I’ve watched this season, except for Nebraska games. Why are we soooo bad? I haven’t seen one team we belong on the same field with.

  6. ...in the next two weeks vs Temple or USF... Which HB poster (or posters) is most likely to go all skeptical and lobby that NU needs to look elsewhere? (I didn't want make separate SF thread but didn't want to hijack the main one) Nominate below!
  7. This is the kind of thing that bothers me. If in 2012 in an interview, he said NU was his dream job...if that's the case, why take more money to eliminate funding toward assistants he wants. He doesn't seem like that kind of guy to me.
  8. Frost is my numero uno Husker. I will still be rooting for the Ducks..but he would be the cure for my apathy. I would be completely invested.
  9. Best TE in history of CFB. No other TE can say that. Correct?
  10. I was just telling my buddy over the phone that at the beginning of the year I was skeptical of this dude. Yea he coached ND's defense when they played for a national championship. Who did they play? No one. He was terrible at UCONN and there were people that were stoked for him. I could see the excitement given that Banker was just awful too. However, with the change to a passive 3-4, and all that. Just bad bad timing for Riley.
  11. 59% winning percentage since TO left? thats not right its around 65%

  12. Seriously could be 2-7 right now headed to 2-8. Arkansas St and Purdue both deserved to win those games...
  13. OBrien looks like he doesn’t even want to be out there.
  14. Well you see, they want a splash hire. Someone who is........Nick Saban. Chip would be a great get if NU can't get Frost. Fans won't care about the alienation. Boosters might, but why? After all this time...no one in Nebraska cares about anything except being competitive and relevant. NU program is the state's life. Nebraska has literally NOTHING else but Nebraska football. College World Series I guess....but that's not something people hold on to like NU football
  15. Good questions. My buddy originally grew up in Oregon and moved to Nebraska for a few years while I was in college. Got to know him pretty well. Text every now and then about various college football stuff. He a media guy with a lot of connections. Not saying they are all credible but he doesn't ever present me any info that doesn't have smoke. I trust him, so I have bought into it. I know that it's hard to come on to huskerboard and believe what people are saying from a rumor stand point....so if I were to put a percentage on it. I'd say 90% + It wasn't any old text from a friend that was speculation. I felt this was worth telling all of you. Hell, I suppose he could be wrong but I just don't think he'd spew that stuff willy nilly.
  16. Oh my Christ. Colorado just scored again.....

      Who are they playing?

  17. These last 3 years are just 2004-2007 all over again. Remember when ISU had a horrible rushing defense and Billy C kept chucking it all over the field with an option qb. Good god. Get these guys out of Lincoln
  18. I did receive a text from a guy in Oregon that hasn't been wrong in quite some time about coaching hires. At least the ones we talk about. He said that from his source in Oregon that Scott Frost has already agreed to be the coach at NU. 5 years 24 million "Appears that Frost has accepted this offer. Expect a smooth transition after this season as Riley steps down and Frost takes over" FWIW
  19. NU’s time messing around by not sending Riley out the door is going to cost them Frost. Forever.

@ZRod Yeah, I realize that but it just isn't an option for them to get it wrong again.

@Coach Power'T   IF (and it is an outrageous "if") your post about winning out happens, I think I would be happy to keep Riley.  Even though his style isn't anything to get excited about, that accomplishment would show a lot of how he can pull a team together and save them from collapse.  I don't want to see it used as an excuse, but this is a pretty young team.  And if they finish 8-4 with a finish like your post describes, I'd be pretty excited for next year.

    4. Redux

      Redux

If the impossible halpens and they finish 8-4, Riley still gets replaced.  But, if he manages to stay another year, I promise you Nebraska plays a different style of offense in 2019.  So either way, next year this team will be different.

  20. I guess I feel like school should be a place that is view as fun. The halloween celebrations are viewed as a reward for being good kids, hard workers in the class room. Why do schools do pep rallys? Not very inclusive of the non sports kids... Halloween for us is a big deal because we are one building and the elementary love having the high school kids involved and "admiring" their costumes. Makes kids feel good by their older counterparts. It's one day of the year. Why NOT do it? IT'S FUN FOR THE KIDS. Why should a school be place where our kids can't have fun? We give shoes to the kids who can't afford separate PE shoes, why can't an art project be to create some sort of costume leading up to this day?
  21. I see. Yea our game was in 04. We were introduced to Pat Smith. Literally had the biggest legs on a RB I’d ever seen at the time. He was hard to tackle
  22. The documentary on Netflix "Oklahoma City" is fascinating. I've never known much of the story of the bombing but the backstory of the Aryan Nations, Ruby Ridge and Davidians is nuts! I never knew anything about any of this. I was only like 5-8 years old during this whole thing.

There is another documentary on net flix about Ruby Ridge that is very good. The name of it escapes me right now.

Oklahoma City isn't really a destination city, but if you ever get the chance please go to the memorial. It's extremely sad, disturbing, and yet fascinating.

I remember the Waco being all over the news, and not really understanding any of it at the time.
