  1. Looking at Suh's numbers, could you imagine if he had all 4 years under Coach Pelini? Man I wish we'd have hired him a little bit sooner.
  2. Did you just make a Tufftiger reference? He are be tuff as nail.
  3. Bo thinks we can have a touchdown on the return game this year. My question: When? Feel free to discuss when, and by whom. First person to guess the correct player gets a +1 from yours truly. I wish I hadn't clicked on your fish link, now I can't get them to leave my mouse alone:( I think we'll get one in the Washington game. By that point we should have a few of the bugs worked out and hopefully starting to work on all cylinders.
  4. I was on my honeymoon during this game, and the Okie St game(which i still haven't seen btw, so send me links if there is a replay of it, i'd love to see it). I got back to the boat after leaving Acapulco and caught the last quarter in Spanish(which sucks btw). I do believe my wife wanted to see if I could go 2 weeks without NU football on TV. Unfortunately for her, I don't think she thought they had US ESPN that far down in Mexico on the cruise ship.
  5. We just need our offense to prove to us that they can get at least a mediocre showing. A lot of us are uncertain because the last few years our offense has crapped the bed in numerous games. Our defense is pretty stout and I think we'll do very well on that side of the ball, we just need our offense to come out every game and do their job with the least amount of mistakes they can. I'd love to say that I have faith in our offensive side of the ball, but they haven't proven they are able to be consistent the last few years, and this year we have a new OC. I would love to be proven wrong, trust me.
  6. It's an arrogant little douchebag that thinks it's shite don't stink. Ask and ye shall receive.
  7. Who is bashing him? There are a few here and there bashing him because he has a choice. They want Bubba to choose NU and get practicing rather than holding out to see if he goes for the MLB contract. I support the kids actions 100%.
  8. Bubba is going to make the choice that will make him happy. I don't believe he was using us as a bargaining chip for baseball, he was making his choice on what he thought was best in case the baseball thing didn't come through right away. I am happy the kid did what he had to do and he's making his choice to further his career. He may go baseball, he may play for the Huskers, none of us know. I wish him the best of luck in whatever he does. I'd take the money to play a sport with very little physical contact and make all the money I could playing a sport I love to play. Any of us would make that same choice given the chance. What could be better, working 6 months out of the year and making a boatload of cash while doing something you actually enjoy. Those of you calling him out for running this out for so long have no clue, it's not really in his hands right now, his agent will posture and if Bubba likes what he see's then he accepts the offer, if not, he goes to NU and gets a degree.
  9. Fixed that for ya. Swift & Peterson were fine wrs. Sure wish we still had them. I'd have to disagree there. Anyone remember the stats Nunn put up in his career or can anyone remember Frantz not getting playing time after his breakout game against KU! Nunn, Swift, Purify, Hardy, Paul, Holt, Peterson, Brooks and throw in Marlon Lucky and you have a nice collective group of talent to throw to. We just didin't have the right staff and the same can be said about that season's secondary Unfortunately of all those WR's you named, only a few could be counted on to catch the ball. I really have no clue how you would even mention Niles Paul in terms of a receiver, that boy couldn't catch a cold in the dead of winter. If he did happen to get lucky enough to actually catch the damn ball, he'd make himself fumble then the next day cry about how he's not getting the ball enough. You can't teach a kid to catch the ball, i'd hope he'd have figured that out long before a scholarship to a D1 school. He's gone now though, and to be honest, i'm extremely glad. I wont have to have absolutely no faith what so ever in Niles Paul to do what receivers do, catch the ball. Just my opinion though, yours may vary.
  10. It sounds nice in theory, but until a receiver can step up and consistently catch the god damn mother friggin ball, i'm not buying into it. Hopefully we can get some consistency out of our receivers this year because we haven't had any of that since Swift and Purify left. If we can't catch the ball the defenses will key in on the run and we'll have a lovely bunch of 3 and outs.
  11. Have to love comments from idiot Longhorn blowhards bcarter62 Clay - Not sure who you are replying to, but the B12 never had a chance of competing with the SEC WITH NU. What did NU EVER do in the B12, overall. A&M is TWICE the athletic program of NU...and they would be middle of the pack in the SEC, at best.

    1. redblooded

      redblooded

The entire big 12 would be bottom of the pack SEC most years. The reason why OU and UT love it is because they don't have that schedule and Nebraska was down... Good god, T-shirt Texas fans need a good hard 10 years.

    2. VectorVictor

      VectorVictor

Actually, hasn't Nebraska won just as many NCs and Big XII titles as Texas, not counting the '09 title that they blatantly stole?

Matthew shhh don't tell the douchebags from Texas that, it hurts their feelings. This dumbass also fails to realize such things. He's done this for years though.

  12. Oh good, you're posting again. When you set your own objective, and that objective is winning a national championship, anything less than that means it is a failure. To have not hit any of the secondary goals like the ones mentioned, is signifying a failure. This program isn't about 10-4 so so seasons, it is about winning championships, at least of the conference variety. Bo put this staff together, because he believes he should have won two conference championships and a National Championship, but the offensive holdovers were the reason he didn't win one. So now that he has "his" guys in place, there is nothing holding him back. Go get'em tiger...It is time for the excuse train and placing blame on everyone to stop. From here on out, any failure unequivocally falls on the shoulders of the head coach, as there are no more scapegoats around to pin it on and fire. So what you're saying is, he gets 1 year with all his own staff and if he doesn't win it then he should quit or be fired? You're a daft one aren't ya? Welcome to the board, I'm fairly certain you wont be around too long.
  13. For you US Soccer fans, Klinnsman rumored to be the #1 choice

    1. EZ-E

      EZ-E

Absolutely 100% agree and hope it ends up being Klinnsman.

  14. Watching the B1G network right now. I hate the fact that it's not time to watch it live yet, but I love watching the "Glory Days" games. Pumps me up and makes me can't wait for the season.
  15. Guess i'll have to go check these kids out when they play my old high school Cimmaron-Memorial.
  16. New job working me till nearly 8PM PST and no time really to be on HB. Got home last night and found out my wife is pregnant. Is it too early to start buying baby Husker gear?

Congrats Lost!! We found out a couple of months back and are now 4 months along. Feel like this one is a bit of a miricle after tying for 4 straight years with no luck. Congrats again to you and your wife!

    4. NUance

      NUance

Congrats to you HuskerInLostWages! And congrats to you Fro Daddy as well! My boy is 1 yr old this month. He can throw a ball back to me. Well, 3 or 4 feet anyway.

  17. Is it me or does it seem like we get stoked about our WRs every year only to be let down? I can't remember how many times we talked about Paul having a breakout year last April. He was being discussed as a possible late 1st round pick. We knew Kinnie was going to have a solid year. Texas came and the balloon went flat. I never thought they'd actually become a liability. The year before last was us talking about Paul again. Year before that was Peterson/Swift. (I'd say they delivered, but that can be partially attributed to Ganz) Year before that Purify/Hardy/Nunn. etc, etc. I'm going to be EXTREMELY guarded with my expectations for the WR corps for a long time. This year I'll base that on our QB. Until he proves he's a consistent passing threat I can't be excited about what we have at WR. I'm more stoked about seeing Rex catching balls out of the backfield than I am about some of these young guys. Prediction: About 50% of T-Marts completions will be to someone coming out of the backfield. Agreeing with you 100% here. Our Receiving corps have been a liability the last few years. if the game is on the line they simply will not or can not make a play. You go back the last few years, if the game is close or on the line you see missed blocks dropped wide open passes, self inflicted fumbles heading into the end zone, etc. I can't put my faith in them until they can actually prove something to me. New coaches and new players, maybe this year will be the year. On a different note Chris, your avatar really is the only thing that catches my attention in these threads:D Them is some FANTASTIC mammary glands.
  18. You could put Paul on the back of that jersey and no one would even notice the difference.
  19. Hard to be in Oahu Hawaii while the continental US is freezing it's collective arse off:) I'm doing it well though haha

  20. I think that's exactly what it was, a rumor. It was the same exact plays we've seen all year long so there is no way Beck was calling plays, that's all Watsons playbook there. If it turns out that Beck was calling plays, which I doubt, then he's taken a page directly from Watsons huge playbook and only used 3 or 4 of those plays. Just my opinion.
  21. I hate you Rawhide, thought you had insight man, but no you go and kill my hope. I went with status quo because I believe that will be what happens, I just hope Pelini wakes the hell up before his head is on the chopping block thanks to his supporting cast on offense.
  22. Wouldn't you as well? You watch that game or any of the last 3 for NU and you see the same 3 plays over and over and over. I wouldn't want him running my schools band practice let alone the football team. *disclaimer I HATE SHAWN WATSON
  23. Thats simple, 3 plays is our identity. We run on first, right...second we run left....third we try a play action pass either over our receivers head, way short on the pass, or at his feet. My wife who watches maybe 3 total games a year was calling the plays before Watson did last night. When that happens, you know the other teams DC knows whats coming. My wife is beyond football stupid and knew what was going to be ran 99% of the game. This is simply unacceptable in any way shape or form.
  24. I hope he doesn't let "loyalty" and the fear of hurt feelings doesn't cloud his view of what is so obvious to everyone else. You mean act like that former POS coach that was hired prior to Bo? I hope that the loyalty BS doesn't cloud his opinion either, Watson is the boat anchor around Bo's neck right now. Might be time to clean house on the offensive side of the ball.
