I would guess that universities need to now show a plan of some sort of how much a player can make and what that would look like.  But the scary thing is that there is no cap.  Whoever is the most creative with the biggest financial backing wins the game!

I wouldn't worry too much about him @ladyhawke.  It wasn't "his" fault and if anything, this will make people not from Gretna more likely to remember that GHS won the state title game in 2021.

He played in every game, but you could probably argue how important him playing was to the success of the team.  He did have a TD in the playoff win over Elkhorn South though.

@BigRedBuster he apparently was going to Gretna while not living in the district.  And since Gretna doesn't allow transfers in they don't normally even think about filling out the necessary paperwork for the NSAA.  

His Dad apparently lives in La Vista where the kid used to go to school, but listed an apartment in Gretna's district for a reason related to his job as a lobbyist for the NE Legislature.

I just skimmed the article in the OWH this morning so I'm probably missing some details.

I also forgot all about it.  I got home from my daughter's BB practice and was just messing on my phone and happened to see a halftime update.  I thought, "That's right!  I'll watch."

I watched the 3rd quarter and went to bed.  Wasn't worth staying up for me.  I know it was a good game, I just realized I didn't care at that point.

They have been way above average for a long time.  Just so happens they wrestle with Iowa, PSU, and OSU among other elite programs.

Or… Get rid of the slide rule all together. If you have the guts to run with it, accept the consequences.

What’s the rule say?  I know the ball is spotted where the QB “starts” the slide, but does it say what “finishing” a slide looks like?

Maybe just make it reviewable.  If the QB starts a slide, spot the ball there.  Whether he “finishes” a slide or not.

They gambled and lost.

It sucks for them to be in the situation and I feel bad for them.  But to my knowledge, the only reason the vaccinated kids were even tested and caused the shut down was because one unvaccinated player was symptomatic causing contact tracing for other unvaccinated players.  This caused the school to have to test the players to see if they were negative and could compete.   If the school would have had them prepared to compete and control what they can control, they would have most likely played on Saturday for a chance to go to the finals.

The COVID rules might not make a ton of sense in many regards, but they weren't new.  NC State had their opportunity.

Now I ether get an error message that kills the page or a virus notification telling me go to some link.

I mow for the district.  Put in the earbuds and turn off the brain for 8 hours a day.  Plus it's a fun group of teachers and maintenance guys we work with.

I look forward to it every year.

Huskers: 2021 National Champions 

Yeah, I graduated from a C-1 school so all sports were together for lifting/conditioning during the summer.  But we had two sessions to choose from 6am-7am or 6pm-7pm.  The morning was packed and it was a ghost town in the evening.  But the coaches who ran the weightroom also painted during the summer, so you got what you got...

School sports budgets are always tricky, but should be easily explained in court if they are fair.  If it's figured per athlete, maybe the numbers are different.  If they purchase uniforms on a cycle, maybe it just hasn't been time for the girls to update.  Like @teachercd, weight room time is often picked by coaches.

It would be pretty easy to show these accusations are pointless IF they truly are pointless.  Otherwise it looks like the girls in Bennington are gonna get some new gear next year.

I got mine yesterday too.  I didn't do anything last night, but I do feel like I'm hungover this morning.  Just a little headache and feel groggy.   My arm actually feels pretty good, I figured that would be the worst part.

Overall not bad.  Now I just need to get used to the voices in my head...
