We used to shoot starlings with our pellet guns as kids. Our parents told us to leave all the other birds alone, but we could shoot as many starlings as we wanted. After reading that article that they're an invasive species, now I know why.
We would also shoot them as kids. Nobody cared about the starlings, in fact they encouraged us to kill as many as possible. Don't know if it was just a bad few years or what but there were tons of them and people hated them.
Yeah, I used to shoot sparrows and starlings as a kid. I shot hundreds of sparrows. And many dozen starlings. Used an old Benjamin .177 pellet rifle. Got to be pretty accurate with that thing.
