You always hear that the Nazis invented Meth. But it seems like an army of meth heads wouldn't be much of a fighting force. :shrug:

  @NM11046 people say that, but it isn't true. IIRC it was created in Germany, but in the late 1890s, and refined in the early 1900s/1910s. And while it was created in Germany, I don't think the inventor was German, but something like Austrian or Hungarian...
  
  The Nazi connection comes from them using it (diluted in water IIRC) as a combat stimulant to keep them awake. But meth then wasn't nearly as potent as it is now...hell, meth was sold as an OTC drug in the early 1900s.
