Does the National Do Not Call Registry work? I've been reporting calls for a year and a half now and it seems like I get just as many junk calls as ever.

@JJ Husker: Betchya that was Teach. Not sure how he got your number though.

It does work but only if they are forced. 1 company I work for gets subpoenas every so often to call records(they are a telecom). I have to restore data to show where the call came into their hardware via a phone number and where it transferred to. FCC will then subpoena both those companies until they reach the originating call and the complaining parties number. It just takes forever because they are backlogged to high hell.

@HuskerInLostWages when I did telemarketing we had to send “Do Not Call” numbers to one of the managers immediately so we could update our lists. From what I was last taught, the problem is that it lasts only a year, so a business or residence will need to make ask to be placed on the DNC list annually. Wasn’t a robo-caller, but would make about 400 dials per day, I started to enjoy the angry people and always made for a good laugh when we hung up. We were a telephone and internet company, the best was when people would tell us how much they “love my Cox.” “Oh yeah, tell me more about your Cox...”
