The best western to come out in recent years is True Grit.  I like the Cohen True Grit more than the John Wayne original.  The new True Grit is more accurate to the book.  

I agree, the True Grit remake is much better than the John Wayne version. Unforgiven, Tombstone, Hateful Eight, Bone Tomahawk, Godless (series on Netflix that is a must see) almost all of Clint’s westerns, especially High Plains Drifter, Hang em High, his spaghetti westerns. I don’t know if Longmire is a western (might just be a crime drama set in Wyoming ) I’m starting that series this weekend.
