Your first sports memory, about yourself.
Mine...Tee-Ball. Never played before but my mom wanted to be able to "see me" so she told me to play first base...so I asked the coach and ended up playing first base (and catcher, because I sucked) forever.

Like @knapplc my earliest memory is playing football with all my neighborhood buddies. We’d play full contact, tackle to the ground with no pads or helmets. Clothes got ruined regularly. On Saturdays we’d hook up a radio and listen to the Husker game while we played. And, speaking of teeth, I did hit one of my top center teeth on a kids head. Didn’t bust it off but jarred it enough to kill the root. I’ve spent well over $25k on that damned tooth between the root canal, repeated bleaching from the inside out, then a crown, which I broke within 2 months playing racquetball, breaking the tooth post so I had to have it all redone again, and here about 5 years ago finally got an implant and new tooth again.
As far as official organized sports not sure if it was youth basketball or baseball. We didn’t go in for tee ball in those days. It was kid pitch from day one. Basketball was the deal though. Played that all the time year round when I was a kid. Pistol Pete Maravich was my hero. And I remember when Kareem was still Lew Alcindor.
