This is how I look at it...

      1.  The people that they are pretending to be worried about getting hammered (students) are not the ones that are going to buy beers at the game...not at 5-7 dollars a beer and not when they would rather just sneak in some shooters.  So that argument is super mute and moot.  No college kid, that is 21, is going to be excited to spend 14 dollars (plus a tip) for two beers when 20 dollars get you a case of Natty...or about 5 drinks on O street.

      2.  People that are going to drink at the game (older people) are running out at halftime and slamming down two beers and a shot...then heading back in.  That is more of an "issue" than a dude grabbing another beer at halftime and polishing it off during the 3rd quarter.

I went to a game in Minny, they served beer...me and buddy stood near the end zone...where the beers were and probably went through 4-5 beers each until the sales were done.  Cans of Grain Belt.  Didn't seem like that big of a deal.

I also think the idea of stopping sales at the end of the 3rd makes no sense.  Shouldn't they just not start sales until the end of the 1st?  It isn't like you are going to sober up during the 4th, that makes no sense, if anything the booze in your system has more time to f#&% with you.

They do!  That beer had a bite!

  4. I am not starting to get excited for the spring game. Weather looks like it will be in the 60's so that is nice. The plan (that literally no one cares about, not even my friends that are going with me) Leave Omaha around 8:30 which should mean we are at the first bar by 10am at the latest (I am already starting to think that this is not early enough) I am guessing we will start at Sandy's, my spring game experience has been that Sandy's is one of the more packed bars in the morning. From there we will probably hit up Main Street Cafe/Pub, grab a tallboy and a shot...then it is off to Barry's. Halftime will be the kicker...do we head over to the Rail Yard and finish things off or do we stay at Barry's?
  5. Wow...shocked this video isn't posted by his Dad. Haha
  6. This is a last stop with a future AD stop...dude already has crazy experience.
  7. This is interesting...bigger "fad" for lack of a better term Flannel shirts in the 90's or Yoga pants now? I am trying to think of other clothing fads that could even compare to what yoga pants have become.
  8. That seems like a really aggressive goal, if they are talking every year.
  9. Is a super regional when they are down to the last 16 teams?
  10. How you know you made a horrible hire... A large portion of the fan base has to google the new HC because they don't know anything about him.
  11. How did you pick the first house you ever bought?

We wanted a house way out of our price range, way too big for 2 people, on way too much land to maintain.

I built our first house after hours and on weekends in 1978 for $30,000. It was about 1450 sq ft.

I sucked it up and lived with my parents for about 2.5 years. I paid them some rent money while I paid off my students loans and then saved up for a down payment. Darn glad I bought my house when I did because prices started jumping these past 3.5 years. Only thing that stung was the slow negations because my interest rate spiked .25% in the extra days they tried dragging it out. The sellers were already in their new home and paying two mortgages for 2-3 months already, but they finally agreed mid-month to avoid shelling out for another month’s payment. One of the happiest purchases in my life, even through some stressful surprise replacements.

  12. Why not just make a twitter account. Then people you don't even know can comment on your tweets and tell you how horrible you are. #TwitterLife
  13. Anyone else find it crazy that Walken is almost 80 years old? I am not sure if he is over appreciated or underappreciated as an actor.
  14. I didn't finish it just yet but I did have a hard time paying attention as I watched it.
  15. I think I am more amazed that the rifle team brought in 29,000...like...how? Someone bought a ticket or concessions? I know they still ended up losing tons of money but the fact that they brought it anything is baffling.
  16. There is a lot of truth to that. I mean, look at it for football too. Purdue? Illinois? Rutgers? MD? Minnesota? Indiana? Teams that no one really cares about seeing no matter what the sport is.
  17. If you are a Husker basketball fan...look at TT 5 years ago...look at Auburn 5 years ago...I am so jelly that you guys got Fred!

Pearl can coach, but I have my doubts about how clean his program is. While I believe every program contains a degree of “dirty,” I also subscribe to the theory that there are worse than others, and didn’t Auburn just have an assistant get busted from a prior gig?

Hoiburg by choice tends to recruit juco kids and avoids much of the drama of high school kids, summer league coaches who want to be paid and dads who think their son is the next Michael Jordan.  I agree it is hard to not get dirty when you have tp play in the mud to attract players to a program.

  18. I sort of think that DE is fine... 1. It is baseball 2. I think they still break even or maybe even make money at the moment 3. It is baseball 4. The expectations are probably to win the Big Ten and/or make the CWS (not the real CWS at Omaha but the fake one that the NCAA tries to trick us into thinking is just like March Madness when we all know that everyone that follows baseball at all is only waiting for the 8 at Omaha)
  19. So well done...Tim O is fantastic and talk about a guy that has mapped out his career in such a great way that he can be rich and not work a ton.
  20. Remember it will all start with something really vague... "Mhmmmm, well, listen...listen...listen. I know where you are going and I agree to a point...but...but...listen...listen listen...there is more to the story than is out there right now and that is all I can say right now"
