  1. Has your employer done anything different with this covid 19 stuff?  Today our older or those with any medical conditions were given the option to go until this is over, we have hand sanitizer everywhere, no customers or delivery guys inside the building and everything they drop of sits in a outside warehouse for 24 hours before being opened or used. Sounds like all overtime is done as well.

I worked from home 37-38 hours a week previously.  I now work from home 40 hours a week.  In person meetings are cancelled for now and done via teleconference.  We've found out what I've suspected all along.  Most meetings could be an email.

Just got a 4+ million dollar retention bonus a few weeks ago and National Signing Day is tomorrow.  Didn't this guy preach loyalty? lol

Ever swim the bay between San Diego and Coronado?  Easy day.  Now imagine attempting it after about 20 something beers.  Lulz...good times.

I literally just sent this link to my wife and then saw you posted it.  The "one-upism" of these things are getting ridiculous.  Anyone recall the border patrol agent in Arizona that started a huge wildfire with a reveal?  He's going to have his wages garnished for the rest of his career and won't even come close to his ordered restitution.  I understand that everyone is different but I think these things are dumb.  That poor woman.

  6. Have any of you vacationed to Key West/South Florida? Or, while we're at it, where are some good January vacation spots on in the lower 48

My brother lived in Key West for a few years while he was in the Navy and I went to visit him several times.  Once you get away from Duval Street and the touristy areas you'd be amazed at how crappy it actually is.  Some people like it but it wasn't for me.  Good seafood though.  Ever been to Charleston or Savannah?  They're close enough you could knock both out in a trip if you have a car.  Hilton Head is great too if you like golf.

  7. As the hubby of Gabby Union, Dwyane Wade is going to be in Lincoln.  There are rumors that Lebron might be joining him in Lincoln this week.  Lebron is supposedly a big Ohio State football fan, growing up in Akron.

I find myself caring less and less about my lawn the later in the season it gets.  I'm all Gung-ho starting in spring.  It still looks much, much better than the lawns on either side of me though so I've got that going for me, which is nice.

That time slot and channel haven't been too good to us in years past but hopefully we can make it a game. Big recruiting weekend.  House should be rocking.

  10. Apologies if it’s been discussed but does anyone know where the Husker pep rally/related activities would be in Boulder the Friday nite before the game? Assuming there will be something that is.

    1. darkhorse85

      darkhorse85

There will be a football Friday event.  Not sure if it is in Boulder or Denver though.  can't find any information on that at this time.  I'm thinking that it might be in Denver because the alumni travel group is staying in Denver and I'm guessing a lot of other fans will too.

Not a huge deal but I once scored over 50,000 on Double Dragon the first time I ever played it.  It was at a bus station in Utah.

Maui Jim has great customer service.  Broke an ear piece and sent them in, got them back within a week like new.  No charge.

      darkhorse85

I've never owned Costa's but I have a pair of Maui Jim's that I've had for the last two years that I absolutely love.  Costa is not cheap by any means but is definitely a less expensive option compared to Maui Jim in most cases.  Probably can't go wrong with either brand so just find something that you like.  I tend to hold onto my sunglasses pretty well so I like to buy nice ones.  I've only owned three pairs in the last 10 years or so.

  20. Do we have a wheelbarrow big enough to deliver cash to Will Bolt?

    1. darkhorse85

      darkhorse85

I'll preface this by saying that I think Will Bolt would be a capable head coach and that I would be just fine if NU hired him.  But it seems that a lot of people are putting a lot of weight into the "Nebraska ties" thing lately, at all HC openings.  Do we always need a coach that has ties here?  Go out and get the best coach that we can.  If that happens to be Bolt then great.

  21. Lost my wallet Saturday between Mouth of the South parking lot, my brothers truck, and my house and pretty sure it was in the parking lot after tearing up the truck and house. Not a lot of cash in there, a few gift cards, but mainly concerned about replacing my license, my CCW, and my debit card. Flying overseas next Friday too, so hopefully they don’t get crazy if all I have is my passport. Shoot, I also had 30¢ off my next fill-up at Kroger gas stations

Caveat Emptor. Global Entry is great, no doubt about it.  But it does not always guarantee the precheck line skipping.  In most instances it will.  But on a rare occasion you will be forced into the regular line with the rest of the plebes.  It's never happened to be personally but I've flown with coworkers it has happened to.  Still worth it if you get plucked once or twice if you fly often.

You shouldn't have a problem if all you have is your passport.   I always pack my passport in case I lose my wallet when flying somewhere.  Came in handy when I "lost" it in New Orleans a few years back.  No problems with TSA.

  24. Anyone have any general house buying advice?

    1. darkhorse85

      darkhorse85

Get the seller to pay for a home warranty.  I've bought three houses and every time I've had something major go wrong within the first year that was within the scope of the warranty.  Saved me thousands.  Now, it may be that you never use the warranty put the peace of mind is also nice.
