Other than Randy Gregory, what Husker DE has played better than Dzuris in the last decade? (I know it's only a 3 game sample.)
Adam Carriker, Eric Martin and Pierre Alien, IMHO. And maybe even Zach Potter. All those guys were pretty good. I'd guess that any of those first three would start on this team.
Don't get me wrong. I love me some Ross Dzuris. He plays smart, doesn't get pushed around. But he's a bit slow of foot on those outside running plays, and when the QB tucks and runs.
Carriker would be an AA, Martin was only a pass rush specialist; he played much better at his natural position of LB, Allen never met an edge he could actually set, and Potter, at least IMO, was vastly underrated. If Barry Turner would have played at his Freshman year potential his entire career, that D-line would have been scary.
