  1. It had better. The kid got trashed, when he's been pretty decent up until this year. Most logic in this thread. I might have missed it, but I don't see anything about no pass rush and LBs that are getting roasted in pass coverage. THEY NEED PLAYERS! I think it's one or the other due to talent. Stop the run or pass. I think what they are doing is the lesser of two evils.
  2. They don't have the horses on D.DL - I like what Freedom is doing, but the DL has been underwhelming for years. I hope they go after a few JUCOs and those twins from KC pan out. LB - They are slow and the can't cover. I don't want to call anyone out, but I could see at least 2 new LBs in the rotation next year. DBs - I don't think they are great, but they aren't as bad as most think. Gerry is all or nothing. He didn't have a good day today.
  3. First off, Lee and Anderson are not ready to play physicality wise. And I will continue to trust the coaches as to why Wilbon and Taylor don't see the field. There are legitimate reasons. Just because they have shown flashes here and there doesn't make them good running backs. I'm not saying they aren't good backs. But there is a lot more that goes into being a good back then grabbing the ball and going forward. While I understand all that, lavonte david was smart enough to pick up Bo's scheme. We all know how that turned out. Just saying some guys are just gamers.Compare a freak all pro LB to two freshman DBs that we know almost nothing about. seems logical.
  4. No. They had they exact se issues last year. People thought that because passing yards were so low it because the secondary was so strong. The teams that gashed us usually ran the ball and didn't really need to throw. It's the same players. Any pass rush, which the team struggled with even with Gregory, would be helpful. The safety help would be nice, but I would rather see the corners tighten up or be a little more aggressive. I like what Gerry is doing in the run game. Well North Carolina is 12th in the nation in pass defense at the moment. Its early in the season, but it might be fun to compare how warren does against Kaaya when NC plays Miami in November. If you're going to compare how 3-4 players perform on a different team while not considering the performance of the other 7 on the field there really is no reason to debate. Stewart has not come in and made these kids slower and less athletic than Warren. The scheme is different and oh yeah...they've played 3 games. This isn't even an issue if there's any kind of pass rush.

  6. I'm not a big stats guy but I use to watch a lot of Thursday night and Late Late Saturday games. It seemed like Jacquez (spelling?) Rodgers was a huge part of the OSU offense for several years. He was literally the go to guy.
  7. Didn't you already post this in the trash Davie thread?
  8. Freedom is the only hope we have at DE right now. I expect him to continue to improve and really start to assert himself as a force by the middle/end of the year. He holds the edge and still gets a little bit of a push up the field. Far more than anyone else is doing right now.
  9. Umm, if it didn't end after 7 years of Pelini's antics and letdowns on the field, it won't end now. The new regime is just getting started, and most people will give them at least 3 years to get their system and players in. It's the one's that won't give them 3 games that are getting all the attention.
  10. I am, but I now think it was because my expectations were too high. This program was on the brink of a catastrophic meltdown. I was of the opinion that all that was needed was a coaching change. It is now clear to me that we don't have the horses on D to be a conference champ level program. I'm not giving up because I still think they can have a great year, but I am curious to see how this staff will address its gap via recruiting.
  11. I get a kick out of the perfectly coached game. Whether it is Shawn Watson, Tim Beck or Mike Riley. I very rarely watch and Alabama game without saying 1-2 times, "Why the hell did they do that?"....Just saying. We don't have the speed.
  12. Add to a long list of Twitter fails. It's a huge fraternity. In his defense, what tools go after these guys?
  13. Giving up on Davie would be a mistake. He had 'lock down' moments in 2014. He just needs to get through this funk he's in. Rightfully so, I would guess his confidence is struggling. I'd like to see the group get more aggressive. They are lined up 10-15 yards of LOS and there is no pass rush. They are going to continue to get abused...JMO.
  14. If I had a choice of replacing the D-Line or the DB's, it'd be a real quick decision. There is literally no QB pressure. We can't get to the QB with 4. The worse part is when we bring 6 and get stone walled. It's been like this all 3 games.
  15. Offense - Westercamp and Reilly are warriors Anyone can knock TA all they want, I'll take him. Need to get the penalties figured out. This is on the coaches. I wish Newby could get up the field when he cuts. Defense - Overall speed is lacking at DE, LB and DB. We need to go after every JUCO DE that is available. There is no pass rush whatsoever. The DB's are struggling, but the lack of a pass rush is exaggerating the reality of this issue. Tackling regressed back to 2014. Special Teams Browns field goal would have been good from 65. I can't believe they even kicked it (i was screaming NO). Westercamp has done a great job filling in for DPE. Team Overall They were not ready to play at kick off. Tighten up penalties and turn overs. I really think that BYU and Miami would have been blow out loses had a change not been made. I think there is a talent/speed gap that we will fight against for the rest of the year (mostly Defense).
  16. BTN Live just went through their list of top quarterbacks in the west. Went through four quarterbacks and no mention of Tommy? Come on.

Wes Lunt is pretty good. I think he's second in the division IMO.

    3. JJ Husker

I agree but who in the West has even come close to his numbers through 2 games? I really don't know but would be surprised if anyone is close.
