  1. Those are not very flattering comparisons. I disagree with the Bell and especially the AA comps, but I find Gregory=Jordan fairly apt. Gregory is a more powerful player with better college production however.
  2. Pete Carroll and his assistants yell, but they rarely if ever curse or demean their players. In my opinion, to each their own I guess. Obviously success has been had both ways. I personally just don't see any reason to tear your players down. It just seems like if you're attacking your player's personally, you're either not a great motivator or not a great teacher. Moments where mistakes are made are great opportunities for growth, why tear down someone who's usually trying their best.
  3. Wisconsin, Alabama, and Stanford are 3 schools that I can think of off the top of my head that run pro style offenses. There is some variation depending on personnel, but for the most part their identity is smashmouth running football.
  4. I love this OP. Sums up my feelings exactly on the new era of offense. It terribly stunts the growth of the most important player on the team, the qb. Yes, it can make it easier for guys to succeed, but long term you'd be better off letting a guy learn and develop the mental side of the game.
  5. Earl Thomas, the best safety in the world and very speedy, misses a couple tackles every game. It happens. Gerry is only a sophomore and you could argue he was consistently the best defensive player for NU last year. As he gets more comfortable back there and gets more experience, he'll be dangerous. Potential All-American/1st Rd pick.
  6. Words, words, words. We'll see what happens when the season starts.
  7. Anyone know anything about Wyatt Mazour? I know he visited NU, as well as Iowa State and Wyoming, but does anyone have any updates. Surely he's been at least offered a walk-on spot. I think he should honestly be considered for a scholly.
  8. Please hire Darrell Bevell Wiscy. It's a win win for Nebraska and Seattle.

  9. Not to be a party pooper, but is there any real smoke to the Tressel fire? Ya'll are getting my hopes up for what appears to be nothing.

Austin Rose mom Instagram or tweeded that Tressel is the new HC on Sunday....Tressel was Vegas top favorite initially and is still at top 3 for most sites I believe. Ron Kellogg stated that he has visited Lincoln multiple times and he shook his hand. Plenty of smoke IMO...

And Kellogg stated that Tressel was his bet as new HC

      Who's Austin Rose?

  10. I would love Coach Bradley. He is very charismatic and is a great defensive mind. One of my old coaches is on his staff and he is a stud too. They have the personality to be great recruiters and bring the Tampa 2 from NDSU which has been a hotbed for coaches at the next level. No to Gus. Big Seahawks fan, and while liked as a man and respected Gus was/is not considered a very good coach in Hawk circles. More a product of his massive talent and Pete Carroll. If we were to go with someone from the PC tree, I'd go with the Hawks current DC Dan Quinn. He's not too high up on my list, but he runs a very simple defense that emphasizes playing loose vs out-scheming people. But, you need some very talented, very dedicated, and very smart players to make it work. So there's that.
  11. Calvin Strong putting on a show tonight.

  12. Give this Thin White Duke something to be merry about.
  13. Remember when Jonas Gray was committed to Nebraska?

  14. Tommy Armstrong's problems are not things that can be solved on the sidelines during the game. His footwork and pocket presence, and by extension accuracy and timing, are about as bad as you will see in D1. Those things are improved upon in the offseason. That's on him first and our staff second.
  15. Is a qb substitution out of the question? The last time I saw qb play this bad was Cody Green at Tulsa.

This is getting out of hand. The O-line, RBs, and WRs are all playing terribly. Look at who coordinates this offense and who hired him.

  16. Are we undefeated right now if we had decided to recruit Jake Waters and he was our qb? I say yes.

I don't think we will lose this week...in fact I know we wont!

I'm not sold on Kansas State. I'd actually be more confident Nebraska beating Kansas State than I am Nebraska beating Wisconsin.

I'm glad he's doing so well at KSU. We def need them to knock off TCU this weekend to have a playoff shot. On another note, do we have a good recruiting relationship with Iowa Western? We seem to be ignoring them. They could be a great asset.

  17. Pretty much just stop the run and don't given them a short field off turnovers. It's really that simple. Their qb play is beyond awful.
  18. As much as I love Abdullah, I do think Gordon and Gurley will be better pros. Those two are just special, every so often type of guys imo. But, I have been nothing but consistently wrong in my prognostications about AA so what do I know.
  19. Joe Ganz. He was better than Taylor and probably the best quarterback we've had since Crouch. Ya he threw some interceptions, but he was basically winning/keeping us in games based on his ability to make throws. Guy was a beast and we'd be undefeated this year if we had a qb of his caliber.
  20. "Not one of your better nights Peyton." -Denver Scoreboard Operator

  21. Did we not know coming in that this offense runs off Abdullah's abilities? Why are people surprised we struggled once he went out? Armstrong is seriously flawed at this point. He has to show improvement. All this team needs is a point guard type at qb to distribute it to the playmakers and not put us in bad spots with TOs.
  22. The one announcer really likes the SEC. This is a Big 10 game. Just stop.
  23. Their defense isn't as good as years past, Stave still sucks, and Jared Abbrederis is gone. I like our chances.
  24. For lasting success, he should. He's raw as hell and is going to have a very steep learning curve in the NFL. He's made some technical improvements, but one more year would really help him. Financially, it's going to be tough to come back however.
