Well, if you have a scratched disk, it won't install. However, if you find a non-damaged disk you can install it on your hard drive--you still need the disk--but then it will play the game from the hard drive

try a good quality car wax and soft rag. I used peanut butter back in the day and it worked, but the car wax should work. You might have to apply a couple of times and buff the hell out of it.
