  1. He threw Nebraska under the bus in a way that our program never did (and would never do) to him.... His quotes also left a lot to be desired, and left it open for outside assumptions to be made about our program.... He's kind of acting like a little b!$(h....
  2. Mike'l Severe ‏@MikelSevere 15m "After going to Nebraska I just hated the game so I wasn’t ready to go back to it.” http://www.gatorcountry.com/feature/finding-his-passion-once-more/ … Here we go. You had to know something like this was coming from him. This staff promises nothing to recruits, but he obviously felt entitled to something when coming here so highly regarded out of high school. He's bitter about playing time, and ran away from the program. That sums it up.... Making this public says a lot about his character.
  3. Nebraska is the exception to the rules of college football placed by society.... Well said (me not you)
  4. The argument that we have been irrelevant on the recruiting trail is soft-witted. We are going to field one of the best offenses in the country this year, and that doesn't happen through the path of irrelevancy when it comes to recruiting. These past few recruiting classes, Nebraska has held their own very well. As EZ said, I wouldn't trade these past two classes with anyone in the conference. I don't know why, as a fan, you would base our recruiting relevance on whether a "scout" pundit thinks our class is good or not. A kid's offer sheet is largely what they base their "stars" on anyways, and if Bo and his staff have proven anything with recruiting, it's that they are prone to being first to a kid, and when we offer, other big time offers seem to follow. This staff finds recruiting gems that other programs, and the recruiting sites were never high on (Martinez, Abdullah, Bell) and from this past class still to be proven (Gerry, Collins, Maurice, Joseph, Carter, Mixon)..... We are anything but irrelevant on the recruiting front, especially these past couple years....
  5. I thought it was Scarlet and cream?
  6. Why hasn't Dirk been covering fall camp? I assume his journalistic style finally caught up with him?

      Love his mad chatter

Dirk asks the questions everybody wants to know the answers to, but doesn't have the gall to ask. Yet, people ream him for it. I don't always agree with his decision making, but it's definitely better than the love fest most of the Husker media has towards him.

      da skers

They don't ream him for asking those questions. They ream him for the way he does it and the fact that they are "slanted" to fit the story he wants to write rather than what the story is.

  7. When guys go number 1, they have to stand in front of the toilet, unzip, and I make an attempt to get it to land in the right spot (although that doesn't always happen). Women have to completely adjust their clothing, sit down, and put the clothing back in place. Multiply that a bunch of times and women have to work a lot harder. Therefore, men can put the damn seat down. Plus, we shouldn't have to look at your urine stains every time we go to the bathroom.
  8. This is why you don't do "two team" practices.....
  9. I don't expect it to be that close. The offense will come out blazing, and those young kids on defense will be running around with their hair on fire....
  10. What if he has the potential to be a good-great LB? As Dude said, this move should make you nervous, even if the risk is minimal. When you slide players around like this, from position to position, you run the risk of stretching them thin mentally, at the very least.... I'm all for getting our best players on the field, but there is some kind of risk involved for the player's long term development at their "true" position, and I was under the assumption that safety was Gerry's spot....
  11. Is there any other day you look forward to more than the first game of a Nebraska football season?

Generally no, however there have been a few years when I looked more forward to the last game of the season. Hasn't been a problem for about 6 or 7 years....

      HuskerNationNick

Nope, besides maybe Husker Basketball and Baseball! I am not AS excited or anxious as I am for Football.

I look forward to the day Nebraska plays for a national title.

  12. The guy on the left looks like he might be good at football....
  13. There is no need to overreact. There is a difference between a kid with a football, and a grown man with a stack of pictures, and jerseys....
  14. The blanket statement was made that Bo has "developed talent." It's a fair question to ask who was developed. I think he has proven that when he has adequate talent on the team he is able to develop it. You can only make a guy so good, that's why recruiting is where Bo has failed (seems to be corrected the past couple years)..... What would you cite as evidence for that proof? I'm not saying Bo has or hasn't "developed talent," but if we're going to say that he has, there should be proof. And the answer to that question can't be, "There are way too many factors for anyone not at practice every day to say a coach can't develop talent," because the flip side of that is, there are way too many factors for anyone not at practice to say that a coach can develop talent. I suppose you never really know how much of a player's development is a result of their own work, or the coaches (in any given situation). There is an assumption, and probably an accurate one, that coaches have plenty to do with the development of their players. I would point to the 2009 defense as evidence of proof. Those players were there the year before with Billy C, and were an embarrassment. The question is, could those same players turn into one of the best single-season defenses we've ever seen in one year's time on their own? I would say no, and suggest there was ample development of the players made by the coaching staff. As I said before, you can't make just any player really good. The players must have talent in order for the coaches to properly development them. I'm not so sure the failures on defense over the past couple years weren't a development problem, but more so a talent problem. Either way it's on Bo, because both (recruiting/developing) matter....
  15. The blanket statement was made that Bo has "developed talent." It's a fair question to ask who was developed. 16. It would be hard to argue that Bo didn't develop Prince. He was a WR when Pelini arrived at Nebraska, so without question Bo saw his potential at CB, and developed him there.....If you give Bo the athletes he needs, I still believe he knows what to do with them (2009 defense)....
  17. Good god I miss that defense. We go so screwed in that game. McCoy's TD should have been reviewed too. I know you can't do this (literally anyways), but if you could field a defense similar to that with our current offense we're playing for National Titles.... If we had a guy like Suh who could contain the run *and* put pressure on the QB, well, it would elevate our entire defense. Our pass coverage would look better. It would free up our LBs to make plays. #93 was a game changer. Once in a generation.....
  18. Ha ha! True, but the same could be said of Phil, Tiger, and most of the other golfing dorks on the tour. It could be said for a lot of athletes!
  19. You have to have the best athletes in the country that fit this mold in order to win like this (think Alabama), and Michigan will not recruit with Bama on a yearly basis. I wonder how long before they bail on this...
