I think a lot of our RB and definitely Martinez and Bunch were considering life after running for it all game Saturday. Just need to get through this year without any of the young guns sustaining some sort of significant injury.
As for Washington being unhappy I think i'll chalk this one up to him being young and immature. I'm sure the coaches will set him straight and hopefully he can get things figured out as he has a damn bright future for us.

Well hopefully AB can have a solid night tonight or it looks like @Mavric will get the win against me this week. MIght be time to start hitting the trade market to see what we can make of this dumpster fire.

Ya, didnt help that I lost faith in Matty Ice and started Keenum.
I will need some big time luck tonight to catch you.
Looks like you were able to come back. Just an unfortunate turn of events for me.

I'm glad I'm likely going to win this week. I got smoked in pretty much every other league.
Good for you if you have Mahomes or Big Ben this week. It's pretty dang hard to lose when your QB drops 40+.
Took Mahommes in all of my leagues this year as a flyer because I knew the chiefs D would be awful this year. Definitely didn't expect this kind of production. Doesn't hurt matters when I also have Tyreek in 2 of the 3 leagues to pair with him.

His win/loss record will be the only thing that keeps from winning it.
Which shouldn't be the case. King Felix won the Cy a few years ago and was 13-12.

Just noticed that the top four in NL ERA are all in the East.
I understand Scherzer and Nola are right there with him. But Scherzer has struggled (compared to normal for him) his last few starts. And to me without looking at stats it just feels like DeGrom has been pitching this well for the entire season and had he gotten any run support at all he would have 12-15 wins.

The voting is truly rigged if he doesn't win a Cy Young this year. He's been absolutely incredible.

Well I guess I can't expect to win many matchups when my RB's combine for 7 points. On to the next one.

I don't know how many of UCF's games you've seen the past two years, but Frost needs no excuse to go for it on 4th down.
Wasn't trying to say he needed an excuse to go for it on 4th down. Obviously he's and aggressive minded coach. But when you could potentially take 3 points in a close game he may opt to go for it knowing he has a freshman kicker. Or he could go for it because that's just how he coaches.

Specialists - I admit I'm a little worried here. UCF was great in the return/coverage units, but lousy with regards to kickers/punters. It's the one coaching area that worries me.
The true freshman kicker is a little worrisome. The good news is the raw talent at these positions should be better than what they ever had at UCF so hopefully that helps. I hope Lightbourn is finally settled into his spot after having to be rushed into things his freshman year and then the total s#%* show that was last year.
I honestly think Frost will do everything he can to keep Pickering in easy make situations early in the year to build some confidence even if that means going for it on a 4th and 5 from the opponents 35 when we should be attempting a FG.

Last time we wore alternate uniforms against Illinois Randy Gregory killed a man.
Those jerseys we quite possibly the worst jerseys. Couldn't read a single number on them from the stands.

Spent most of my life going to games and sitting in south endzone growing up. Told myself I'd never sit anywhere else because I loved sitting down there. When the east stadium project opened up dad got seats in section 413 which is basically right above our band.
I now refuse to sit anywhere but there. Bathroom breaks last less than the length of TV timeouts and the personal seat space is phenomenal. Only bad thing about my seats is we have a run the damn ball guy sitting 2 rows behind us. Clamored for the power I 2 years ago on a 3rd and 12. Can't wait to see his reactions this year.

Not sure how to post tweets but Thompkins has replied to his coach's tweet above saying that our staff is the definition of loyalty. Regardless of what happened to him seems like we don't have to worry about losing him to another school.

This can’t be emphasized enough. Frost’s offense doesn’t force the QB’s to throw into tight windows or make difficult passes. The offense is designed to confuse the defense and having receivers in open spaces. It’s the QB’s job to make the quick decision and deliver the pass quickly.
There's a good reason that Frost's QB's have led the nation or have been hear the top in QB efficiency the last few years. None of the guys have been crazy accurate throwers. Just the simple fact that guys are so wide open or there is an easy option built into every play. It's not rocket science.

Is Martinez the most refined passer? No. But his legs are dangerous enough that he's going to have some pretty wide open throwing lanes. Go back and watch old Oregon and UCF gmaes. The throwing lanes aren't what you typically see. Most of the time guys are running wide open down field or there is an "easy" route to help the QB out.

i feel weirdly OK with how I drafted. Pissed I didn't get any ex huskers

It's not ideal, and will keep some teams away. But I have more confidence in the ligaments healing better than Tre was ever going to. You're still right, it's not ideal at all.
Some ligament issues can be due to proper loads during weight lifting sessions. Not saying that the strength coach down there is bad but every kid is different. Nebraska will have the resources and means to take a look at his biomechanics and knee structure and get him on the right weight program that his current high school doesn't have access to.

Picking 6th tonight. Let's hope i have the attention span to make it through this thing.

Finally got a chance to play a couple rounds the last month of so here. Played Aberdeen Farms in St. Louis during a weekend get away and played Table Creek in Nebraska City. BOth rounds resulted in 76 in the most frustrating ways possible. Lost 2 balls during each round and also finished 1 round with a double bogey and finished the other round bogey/bogey. Apparently not touching the sticks very often is a good thing for me. Guess my next goal is to shoot even for a round.

I haven't heard from RunMickeyRun02 yet. I'll give him a couple more days.
We talked about a draft on Monday the 27th. What about Tuesday the 28th or Wednesday the 29th? Let me know yes or no on those three days and we'll pick the one that works best for most people.

I prefer a kid who is 250 than 350. A kid that is 250 has all the room in the world to put on good weight. Duval has proven this to be no issue. He will most likely graduate around 265-270 and I would assume a redshirt year would leave him around 300. That weight is going to be much better proportioned than coming in over weight and having to lose it then add it back on.

Had to figure he would be one of the guys lost due to scheme. Wish the best for him in the future.

Leaderboard
The conditions were insane. And the field was stout: former D1 and D2 standouts, former Kansas Mid-Am Team Champions, former Mid-Am Players of the Year, former Kansas Amateur champion, recent USGA Am and Mid-Am Qualifiers, etc.I'm humbled to call myself a KGA Champion for the first time and now be invited to the Champions Dinner!
2 Huskers!
Nice. Your partner can flat out play. From the same hometown as I am. Pretty sweet that you guys won it and can call yourself champs.

Made the mistake last weekend of going to Pacific Springs in Omaha. Nephew wanted to go golfing so since the sister isn't much of a golfer I figured I would go. Only good thing about the day was the fact it was nice. Took 3 hours to play 9 holes and now I remember why I never go to that course.
With the weather being nicer hoping to get out and play more here soon. Anyone been out around the Omaha area? Which courses are in good shape?

One week left of the regular season and of course the Cards play the 2 best teams in the NL. I don't expect them to catch either team but i'm confident they can hang on to the 2nd wild card spot and from there anything can happen.
Also I think it's time we hand the NL Cy Young to DeGrom.
