Why would you not call the coach who is recruiting you??? It is not like NU is a scrub school. There is probably other things that came into play and he is making it seem like he made the decision to not call Beck.

Because just like his grades, Josh isn't being completely truthful about everything.

 

But I can understand why he would not tell the truth either about grades being the issue. Do not want to scare other potential teams off just in case he does somehow qualify.
