shyndy
We don't need no dang Co-Champion of the North trophy. We want real trophies. The "North Trophy" isn't a real trophy. Let's save our glee for when the XII glass bowl comes back to Lincoln. Let KSU and MU celebrate their North Trophies as evidence of their "dominance". i can think of another trophy that has glass on it that would be better, they still do that one right? husker98
Look at it like this. Before the season, NU was picked 5th, 5th!!, in the north, and instead finish tied with the best conference record in the division. Who picked us below CU, K-State, and Kansas? A lot of publications before the season had the huskers hovering around 5th or 4th only Phil Steele had us higher. it's nice to prove everyone wrong ........except that egotistical maniac phil steele. BIGREDIOWAN
No, we can't consider ourselves Co-Big XII Champs considering Missery took us to the woodshed and beat us straight up. It's definately a step in the right direction though and a very good season for Bo's debut. Quote Link to comment
808Husker in KCMO
No such thing as co-champs (ask PSU). We did tie for first but Mizzou is the North Champ via tiebreaker just like whoever wins the south. Next stop, The new Cowboys Stadium! Big 12 Champs in 2009! Quote Link to comment
Apathy
We are the Co-Champs of the North see link below http://www.omaha.com/index.php?u_page=3918...;u_sid=10501458 I know Mizzo beat us......but we beat Kansas by 10 points and Kansas just beat Mizzo. We are both 5-1 in the North and 5-3 in the Big 12 and should share the title.......so take that Mizzo and you booger eater Chase Daniel. Quote Link to comment

So what ever team from the south that ends up in KC shouldn't consider themselves the EDIT champions division winner because another team from the south beat them? Next year: Undisputed north division EDIT winner AND Big 12 champs!! Quote Link to comment
np_husker
I don't think winning the division is a championship, it's simply winning the division. Quote Link to comment
HuskerTrucker
I agree with huKser...next year we take care of business and take the question of who is champs or co-champs off the table. But in reality, we have a lot of question marks...like who is the starting QB next year? How will he perform on the field? Quote Link to comment

SouthBayHusker
The Big 12 does not recognize co-champs. Besides we lost to mizzou. Quote Link to comment

No, because with 2 teams tied, the head-to-head is the tiebreaker, and that's what makes Missouri the B12N rep in the championship game. The head-to-head doesn't break the B12S 3 way tie. gbrnu1
Coming out of my lurking mode..the Big 12 DOES recognize co-division champs. Go to Huskers.com.....http://www.huskers.com//pdf7/134550.pdf Notice Nebraska is listed as tied for first in 2001. The representative in the championship game is the winner of the head to head. No, we can't consider ourselves Co-Big XII Champs considering Missery took us to the woodshed and beat us straight up. It's definately a step in the right direction though and a very good season for Bo's debut. Scarlet Overkill
When I was in Ames 2 years ago for the game, I saw tons of people wearing "Iowa State North Division Champions" shirts. It was from the year where there was likea 3 way tie. You guys do get a trophy. KU got one last year when they tied us. I thought KU had to commission their own, and I also recall the KU fans on the Scout board so excited over it. I thought it was lame when they did it, and I see no reason why we should do it. Just lame lame lame to an infinite degree. It is fun, however, to mention it to MU fans that in their two greatest seasons in recent memory, they actually had the same conference record as the 2nd place team in both years. I saw the Huskers play and saw MU play some. I have no problem admitting they are sole proprietors of first place in the North. It's not even something I'd admit anyway since the North stunk up the joint this year. Quote Link to comment
